Re: x200 w7 64 bit freezeups on battery power
Thanks. I also suspected that but I have 3 batteries, 2 - 6 cell and 1 - 4 cell, original and they all do the same. I think it has something to do with the higher internal impedance of battery compared to mains voltage. I believe it is a system power management problem. Never had this before.

x200 w7 64 bit freezeups on battery power
This is my second x200. The first one was Vista 32 bit and I used it for a year with flawless performance. This one was purchased with W7 64 bit and freezes at least once or twice each session when on battery power but never when plugged into the Ultrabase. I can't trust this machine for use in meet...

Re: Vista - Changing Software Settings to Match SSD
After reading the post yesterday I made all the changes listed except the ram drive. I'm using W7 on X200/4gb/X25-80gb SSD and I can say that if has made a significant difference. The machine is much faster. Also cleared up about 10+gb of disk space. After using it a while I did change some of the s...

Re: Firefox - Slow to Open on X301
Same problem here with X200 after I installed an X25 80gb SSD. I didn't have the problem before i swapped in the SSD and used MS EZ transfer to get the same setup. I removed Add-Ons in Firefox one by one until I found one that was causing the slow down with the SSD. Now we are back to normal.

Re: In other news
Sorry a bit OT:
I have the Intel X25 80gb and was thinking of getting the Filemate 48gb Expresscard but read some reports that this device runs hot. Do you find that to be the case?

Re: Thoughts about the X200's expansions slots
Thanks for sharing. very interesting. Would it be possible/practical to fit a PCI-E SSD like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220358 the 64gb Patriot in the dual length slot and move the WLAN to the full length? It seems that then the wireless switch would always need to left...

Hi, I'm kind of stuck on what to get. I'd like my new ThinkPad to be my "do everything" machine: * Noise: Silent or as close as possible * CPU: Handle playback of 1080p MKVs * Screen: 12-14'' * GFX: Don't game, but would like to drive an 20-24'' external monitor through DVI * Optical: I think I can...

X200/Ultrabase - confirmed does good job driving 2 monitors
22" 1680x 1050 Dell and 19" 1280 x 1024 Dell Ultrasharp. The X200/Ultrabase combination outputs video to the dual monitor setup just as well or maybe even better than office Quadro NVS equipped Optiplex 755. The Ultrabase needs a Displayport >>DVI adapter to drive one monitor, the other driven from ...
