Overclocking the C100

Just thought I post quickly (for anyone that cares) I had my C100 in pieces again today and while I did I noted the clock generator PLL chip. It uses an ICS954226AG. Using a little app called SetFSB (google) I managed to overclock my 2GHz chip to around 2.5GHZ. Not massive or particularly useful, bu...

Re: Lenovo 3000 C100 upgrades

Just a quick note for anyone out there thinking about upgrading their C100. I've had mine for about a year now and I think it's almost at its maximum possible specs. Same Katch as the one from modthepad? You can also do the pinmod and using a 400mhz dothan overclocked 33% you can exceed the 2.33ghz...

Most of that branding is contained in modified Windows XP system files that are protected by Windows File Protection. In short it's very difficult to modify them from an installed system. If you really want to get rid of it all your best bet is to download a copy of XP Home from somewhere and do a c...

CPU - Pentium M 760 2.0Ghz Potenitally the 770 and 780 (2.13 & 2.2GHz) should work, still haven't found one to try. Hdd - Seagate Mome...

There's a little push switch on the back edge of the keyboard surround that turns off the LCD when the laptop lid is closed. On some laptops its recessed in a little hole with a small plastic tab that pushes it, on others, and I think this model. its just a little rubber number. Check that that is c...

It has a range of software issues and incompatibilities. When it arrived the audio was stuttering and brea...

Calling all 3000 C100 Owners - Help needed

I need to find an Atheros based Mini PCI card that works with this laptop. But Lenovo have a list of cards that work with it and fails to power on with any unsupported card in the slot! Short of me buying every Atheros Mini PCI card I can get my hands on to test and resell, this is the only other op...

The patches are applied during the initial installation,

you select customise rather than just clicking continue and then select the base system, either SSE2 or SSE3 and GMA900 patches from the list.

OSx86 - Lenovo C100 - Fullyworking

Just a quick post to say that my C100 runs OSx86 like a charm. The biggest problemis getting the initial install done, the stock DVD drive refuses to boot the installer.
