(under win7, wwan won't power up) Also on forum.lenovo.com, others seem to have problems with latest wwan driver, getting older one seems to make it work again.

Re: X301 doesnt recognize WWAN module
if you grabbed the latest driver, it might relate to the problem many are having with Win 7 updates grabbing latest wwan driver. See my notes in http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=82365 (under the win 7 thread, wwan won't power up) Maybe that latest driver is screwed up for not only win...

Re: after win7 upgrade, can't power up wwan
Found hints to get it going with an older driver. Does anybody know how to alert Lenovo to this being all messed up? I found another email thread suggesting installing older WWAN driver ( http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/7uwc47ww.exe ) which fixed it, but it was a pain, had to ...

after win7 upgrade, can't power up wwan
Upgraded to win 7 x64, the wwan (lenovo-branded ATT card and drivers) had been working on vista x64, reinstalled win 7 wwan drivers (7uw706ww.exe), GPS drivers (6jgp34ww.exe), 5.42 access connections (6jc725ww.exe) Wireless radio management (Fn-F5 & menu activated), clicking to power up wwan radio i...

Now it says "12.1 WXGA+ (1440x900) LED backlight with the Next Generation ThinkPad Roll Cage, 3x3 UltraConnect ll antenna"
Does this mean they finally put the WWAN (3x3) antennas in the WXGA+ LED lid, so end users don't need to stuff them in as homework?

Re: 2x 4GB RAM for X200s
Following up on memory speed concerns, from above, where Lenovo claims 5 clock cycles, and others 7, I find on more searching that Kingston has both 7-7-7-20 memory and 5-5-5-15, which they call Hyper-X, and Patriot, which above is said to be about to show up at Fry's, has both 7-7-7 speed and 5-5-5...

Re: 2x 4GB RAM for X200s
Here is one related thread via googling: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=346927, last posting claims the memories are all the same cycles but no real performance measurement.

Re: 2x 4GB RAM for X200s
I notice Crucial & Corsair list 7 clock cycles for their memory, versus Lenovo at 5 clock cycles. Would that make Crucial & Corsair memory 40% slower than Lenovo in performance? That is a big difference. Has anybody seen or done a performance benchmark showing the difference in memory based on clock...

Re: Successful WWAN install on my x200s. –Thanks to Zender
So are you saying you just used the third wifi antenna and it worked fine? I have a 5100 which is using two of the three (white, black, gray), but no red/blue - are you saying you can just use the unused of those three? When first putting in the Lenovo-packaged ATT WWAN card (to 1400x900 LED backli...

If you have a X200s, please let us know your: A. CPU model SL9600 (PCmark program reports: 2.13 MHz @ 2128 MHz, 3984 MB, Lenovo's 128G SSD, vista 64) B. Re: Can i code on x200s? Does it get hot or noisy?
my main concern is just the heat and the noise. All this laptop for would be just some coding, email, etc Heat and noise: Before, I was using an x60s, it would heat up much more around the palm rest area when going into debugging and the CPU was running up to 50% (1 of 2 cores maxed out by Java), n...

Re: Can i code on x200s? Does it get hot or noisy?
I've been using the x200s for coding, mix of Eclipse and .Net. Very very satisfied with x64 performance (Vista 64, but I guess its close to time for System 7). My work has lots of very long xml tag names, the extra resolution of the LED screen is a huge help for stretching editing windows widely. As...

Re: Successful WWAN install on my x200s. –Thanks to Zender
I got the Lenovo GPS software to work (on a x200s with the LED screen and the Lenovo-packaged WWAN card for ATT, and home-installed replacement antennas). But it only works when using Lenovo Access Connection software to connect to WWAN. I found ATT's Communication Manager more reliable to connect W...

Re: SL9600 option on X200s!
Lenovo did an order for a x200s with the sl9600 on tuesday, maybe they got a small batch of the chips and sold them all, or maybe I'll be using the reliable old thinkpad for much longer than the expected ship date (end of next week)...
