Yes, hats of for their ingenuity and efforts to *hopefully* keep our classics up to date hardware wise. Let's just hope they make this board available to the western world and that these boards will have a more even build quality than the T50 boards apparently had.

Re: ** Happy New Year to All **
Happy new year to all! This is my first post in a while, and I need to make a post so you guys (and girls) don't think I left for good. All is OK, it's just the fact that between a new hobby car and a new job, the Thinkpad hobby has gotten the short end of the stick since last summer. We'll talk aga...

Hi Dave
When it comes to something like that, I could definitely be interested, even if I have to pay for shipping to Norway. So let me know what price we're looking into for this item, and we'll discuss the payment options and the shipping specifics.
Thanks for the offer!

WTB: Battery for 700 / 700C, defective.
Hi As I now apparently found my long sought after 700C, I would like to see if I can find a battery for it. I have no intentions of ever trying to run it off of a battery, but I'm looking to fill the open hole that's there when the battery is removed. So even if I find a battery with cells still pre...

WTB: Stylus for Thinkpad Tablet 2
So I have now managed to do what I promised my self to never allow to happen. I used my Tablet 2 with it's stylus some weeks ago, and I did NOT put the stylus back in it's little home on the side of the tablet. And neglecting to put stuff back where it goes, usually results in it going missing. So a...

Wow, thanks. Good to know.
I have a G40, and I think I might have replaced the CMOS battery there at one point. But I have had no issues, so I might confuse this with one of my other 20+ legacy systems. I better open it up and check what's in there..

Long time, no see, George. I'm sorry to hear that the system eventually died, even though I had a sneaking suspicion that this might be the final outcome when I heard about the random issue you were experiencing last year. Hats off for those who initiated and created the T50 board. I just wish they ...

Re: Thinkpad T400 on the International Space Station
When ThinkPads were made by IBM, there was a NASA/IBM "US-made" connection... I also suspect that the US-made connection in the IBM days, made the IBM Thinkpad the only logical choice. IBM was such an integral part of US business back in the glory days, that it wasn't just some pc-manufacturer. It ...

Congrats on your find! And that's probably one of the biggest towers I have ever seen.
What was the exact purpose of something like this back in the days? It must have been made for something special, or to contain some special hardware. I have never seen anything quite like it..

Ok, so I'm taking back up an old thread here. I'm currently in the process of negotiating over purchasing a 700C. This will be the first and only 700C I buy, presumable also the only unit ever from this very early era, so I want to be sure I'm doing the right thing here. But before I go ahead and fi...

Hi all. I'm sorry for the late feedback. I am also, as always, a little embarrassed to tell that progress hasn't come any further at this point. Re: Update on pentium mmx in thinkpad 600.
Good that you figured it out. It took me a while to understand what you were trying to achieve here, as the usual way back in the days was to attempt an upgrade from MMX to PII. But for building a collection where you're trying to represent all generations, I can see how such a "downgrade" can make ...

I got mine a couple of days ago, so shipping was amazingly quick, even to Europe. The last time I bought cheap ones on eBay, I ...

The 755CV/CDV are rare. They're 755C/CD models with a removable lid (and translucent LCD,) allowing the machine to be laid on an overhead projector. I second that, as I have never seen one. That's one of those they (probably) didn't sell too many of to begin with. And in those days, where CPU speed...

I did that too last week with two machines. Both a T410 running Win7 and a T420 running Win10. I had to go back to V3.81 on both of them. It has been this way for a long time now, I have no idea why the newer OSD versions refuses to work.

Just increase the price, I'm ok with that. When someone goes through the trouble of making a custom made part like this is available, I usually pay what it costs, period. :-) Shipping to Norway and a pretty unfavorable exchange rate these days make everything I buy from the US very expensive, so thi...

I think I posted my interest for a T420 non-s kit last year, but repeating it just in case you survey these posts. Also looking forward to getting the details of why it seems to be a challenge making these kits work, and hopefully get to hear if reliable kits will ever become available.

Re: Rarest ThinkPad models
It depends on how you define rare. I think it falls under two categories. Like George says, some machines are rare today simply because they are old and the vast majority of them are gone. The 701C and 700C probably fall under that category. Quite common back in the days, but today, the good example...

Some BMW diagnostic also seemed to make use of the T30 back in the days. But I actually don't know if it refused to work on any other laptop, or if the T30 was the choice just because it was a sturdy laptop and well suited for use in a workshop. Some years back you could buy this software on eBay fr...
