Re: X61 Tablet, Reuse digitizer from XGA to SXGA+?

For the BOE HYDIS panels, -100 and -101 are just two models, I think -101 is direct bonding coating for better outdoor viewability or whatever. Which is a good thing. However, I have heard that the -101 panel has an annoying sparkly effect that the -100 does not have. Mine (the -100) seems OK, but I...

Re: X61 Tablet, Reuse digitizer from XGA to SXGA+?

I got the SXGA+ screen back from RMA, and installed it in my x61t. The digitizer from the XGA panel works fine and there seems to be no issues with the resolution change. FYI, my panel was from the 247laptoplcd store. They had a pretty good price, deliver worldwide, and excellent support. Finding th...

I really recommend you watch this excellent video through, really lets you know what to expect when doing an LCD change in an x60/x61 tablet.

Re: DIY X61T SXGA+ Install Compatibility

Well I sent it back. Turns out that touching the top would cause the patterns of lines to change or even disappear, so the panel must be dicky.

Wonder what the odds are of a $350AU panel being DOA.... oh well looks like another few weeks of waiting for SXGA+.

Re: X61 Tablet, Reuse digitizer from XGA to SXGA+?

I'm doing the mod, I got my sxga+ panel a few days ago, and started ripping digitizer stuff off of the XGA panel in order to transfer it across, and half way through the install discovered the SXGA+ panel was defective. Have sent it back for replacement. I have no proof as I didnt accidentally finis...

Re: DIY X61T SXGA+ Install Compatibility

Ahhh not successful just yet... When I put in the SXGA+ panel, the display is all messed up, showing lines and patterns all over the screen. When I put the XGA panel back in everything is all fine again. I am now convinced, after reading through many other posts, that the pinouts are the same amongs...

Re: DIY X61T SXGA+ Install Compatibility

Hey VipFreak. My x61t doesnt have multitouch, so that was not an issue for me. Which suits me, because if it had multitouch, I imagine it would be difficult or even impossible to transfer the multitouch hardware over to the SXGA+ panel.

X61t Digitizer not working after LCD reinstall - SOLVED

I just had an annoying problem which is now solved, and want to post here just in case someone else has the same problem. I booted up into windows with the digitizer removed. After putting all the hardware back to normal, the digitizer would not work at all. In Pen tablet properties, it said 'A Supp...

Re: DIY X61T SXGA+ Install Compatibility

Hi MrBean, I haven't moved my digitizer over to the new panel yet (the panel came without a digitizer assembly), so every time I have tried it has been with the digitizer disconnected. I have tried my old panel with the digitizer disconnected to see if that works, and it does. Not only that, but the...

Re: DIY X61T SXGA+ Install Compatibility

Hey MrBean, I assumed my X61t has the G5 panel/digitizer assembly, but I thought I would be able to swap out the LCD panel with a 93P5607 from the G4 assembly, which was meant for the x60t, without changing the cable, and then just put my old digitizer on the back. I thought the G5 / G4 cable change...

Re: Speedstep not working for X61s running Vista 64-bit

I had speedstep issues for ages on Vista 64 bit. I have an x61t. The windows power management offers no control. It would never clock down to 800mhz. The ONLY way I could control the CPU speed how I wanted, was to use RightMark CPU Control. To get this app to work I had to download a tool called Ats...

DIY X61T SXGA+ Install Compatibility

Hi, I have an X61t that came with a regular XGA panel. I purchased an SXGA+ panel (FRU 93P5607) from an online store in the US as I had heard it is compatible with both X60t and X61t. I have a video guide to swapping out the panels (including swapping the digitizer over to the SXGA+ panel). However,...
