Did your X200 have a screen with 1440x900 before the swap? Or did the X201 have that 1440x900? Both X200 and X201 motherboards can display 1440x900, but a 1280x800 screen can not! I replaced the x200 motherboard with a x201 i5, after system installation and graphic drivers, I get only 1280 x 800. The option of 1440 x 900 is no longer available. Anyone has experience with this scenario?

Sorry to wake up a old thread. The mod looks straight forward enough that I would like to attempt this. Got a question though. given the open mini pci-e ports on the board, would it be possible to just cut the connection of one off of the motherboard, and use the pin outs on the back to wire in powe...
