LCD dim on resume, takes 2 minutes to get fully bright.
Is this the digitizer or blub? It has progressively gotten worse over the past two months. Seems more noticeable after upgrade to Win 7 Pro.

Re: How to migrate from slow Hitachi drive to CF Card.
Thanks for the link. Seems the 4KB test is the hardest for CF cards to handle - is that the main issue for day to day performance or is th 512KB test a better number to go with?

Re: How to migrate from slow Hitachi drive to CF Card.
Hmm, I can try, what kind of speeds will I get off the kingston? 266x cards should run 38MB/sec transfer, is the kingston getting this on write speeds as well?

Re: How to migrate from slow Hitachi drive to CF Card.
Well, I got the CF hard drive working. I used an external usb 2.5" HD enclosure for the Hitachi drive and put the CF Card in it's adapter in the HD slot. I had the Hitachi 60GB drive partitioned into two drives, made a backup using acronis. Used a recovery cd created by acronis, put my X41 into my X...

How to migrate from slow Hitachi drive to CF Card.
So I bought a CF-IDE adapter for my X41 tablet and a 533X 32GB CF card, whole thing cost me $120 so I thought good deal. Installed Windows 7 Pro on my 60GB Hitachi - everything works great. Now the CF card has arrived and now I want to clone or image my drive to the CF card. Bought a USB CF adapter ...

Re: Best use of SD and PC card slots?
Hmm, so if you have an SDHC card Class 4 or better the ready boost will solve the 4200rpm stock hard drive performance blues? I have a CF card adapter for the HD bay and just waiting for some more bucks for a 32GB 533X card to replace my drive. For thost using SD cards in the SD slot how is the extr...

Re: Onenote, mini mike and sound on X41T
I used to record audio and I used to get feedback - the hard drive caused most of my problems (when it was working hard the noise would increase). Find out if you are recording using the mix setting. Mix setting uses line in (which doesn't exist as a port) and mic. If you have both ports recording t...

Re: What's the 4-Cell batteries life?
I have an 8 cell that gives me 3:30 without wifi, max performance. The Lenovo site says the 70+watt ac adapter is recommended for the unit, if you have the 56 watt, that may be the problem. I had an 8cell on an X41 non-tablet which gave me 1.5 hours which had burnt cells so I bought a 4 cell afterma...

Re: X41t - Need new 8 cell battery/RAM/new hard drive/Win7 -help
I have been looking for the 2nd battey, only place I have found one is from Lenovo directly. It's a four cell battery that will bump you up to an advertised 11 hours total runtime, I think real world is 5 - 6 hours. There are many posts on the HD problem. If you want the simplest solution, expect to...

Tablet Keys - stuck up/down arrow keys.
Hi, Bought a used X41T on ebay, 1.6 Ghz, BT. Life was good until I unscrewed the keyboard to tighten the screws. The left / right arrow key on the screen seem to get stuck if you press them. They click fine but for some reason it's like they are being held down. If I press the esc button on the tabl...

Re: X41 Tablet. Who owns one?
I just picked on up off of ebay. X41 Tablet with 1.6Ghz, 1.5GB, 60GB HDD. I had an X41 with a 40GB and it's painful to use it. I bought a compact flash adapter and plan to use it to replace the 40GB drive. I found it odd that the 1.6Ghz tablet runs so much better (related to HD tasks) than the 1.5Gh...

Getting a tablet, X41T or X61T?
Hi, I have an X41 notebook and looking to get the tablet version. I need the smallest possible dimension with an 8 cell battery for 5+ hours of run-time. Reading the spec's the X61t with the 8 cell battery is 1LB heavier than the 8 cell X41 tablet. From a pure money standpoint, by the time I get a u...

Anyway to upgrade the X41 / X41t to WWAN?
I did a quick search, found there is a white list for wifi adapters? I have an HSPA capable PCMCIA card but would rather have replace my mini pci with a wifi / wwan card. Was this even an option? Anyone have any ideas how to add WWAN to the X41 series?

Anyone tried the Runcore RCP-IV-P1832-C in an X41 or X41t?
I read the 30 pages on the main SSD and did a search, couldn't find an exact answer on the runcore drive. I have an X41, will be buying an X41t - I am a field rep and need the smallest useable tablet I can get my hands on. Don't play flash video's much and don't care about widescreen so I think the ...

Tryingto find part number for X41 port replicator / dock.
I went to Lenovo's site and found nothing. I did a text search on the foum and got a bunch of different answers - does anyone know the part number of a dock for the X41 laptop? I don't want the ultrabase - to big and I don't need an optical drive.
Thanks for the help.

Re: SSD for X4x sum up.
I used the flashpoint software (before the name change) on a Umid M1 (Koren ultra portable hand top) and what I would get is the system trying to do checkdisk but it would fail. I uninstalled and did the check disk and life was good for a while. Because flashpoint creates a cache out of system memor...

X41 Laptop - screen resets to SVGA when lid closed.
So I just got a used X41 laptop off ebay. I had an Asus 1000HE but wanted something just a tad bigger. I have had thinkpads in the past and so I am familiar with most of the quirks but this one is eluding me. I didn't get any software and did a fresh install of XP Pro SP3 and proceeded to download j...
