So, are you guys saying that if I use my laptop on the battery then I should try to charge it asap rather than let it die?

Annoying loud critical battery alarm on Thinkpad R61
Hi everyone! I run with vista, and I've tried to remove all the sounds linked to the low battery in the config panel/sound menu, but nothing has worked. Everytime my battery comes to 1% this really loud alarm rings. And, say, to fall asleep with music, or when just letting the battery die completely...

So, thanks very much for your help.
I did took my time but ended up removing the cable leading to the pad and now it doesn't heat anymore.

Fingerprint reader overheating on R61
Hi there, well the subject says it all. I have had my laptop for a while now, bought it second hand so no warranty, but lately the fingerprint reader gets dangerously hot. So it can be inconveniant while typing or resting my hands if I accidently rest on it. Plus I am wondering if it may not be a mo...
