Re: X220 issues with clean Win10 install
Yes, this was the first driver I installed. When this is installed the mouse properties have a setting where I can select 'scroll' or 'center click', but it doesn't make any difference, both scroll. Just to be super-certain (sorry for asking something so obvious), you did click 'apply' after select...

Re: X220 issues with clean Win10 install
Have you run Windows Update to see if Windows offers the drivers you need? Thanks for looking. Yes, I've used the Windows Update, rebooted, & repeated until it insisted I had all the updates. I've also double checked the pcsupport.lenovo.com site & it also says everything is good. Does nobody else ...

X220 issues with clean Win10 install
I've just installed a new ssd & installed Win10 onto it. This is my first experience with Windows 10. The install seems to have worked just fine. But... I'm having some driver? issues. From the pcsupport.lenovo.com site I installed & ran the auto update & now it says all drivers are installed. I'm h...

How do I put the 4 install discs on one USB drive for setup
I'm having trouble explaining what I want to do. Sorry. I have the set of original X220 setup discs. I want to do a fresh install from a USB flashdrive. I know how to make the flashdrive bootable & install the first ISO, but what do I do with the other discs? I want to copy them to the same flashdri...

Re: "ME is in recovery state" Appears when I boot my X220
BTW, if anyone can explain what the error message 'ME is in recovery state' actually means, I'd love to know. When you did the reset you actually reset the Embedded Controller which runs Intel ME. You actually have 2 different operating systems in your X220. Little is known about the OS that Intel ...

Re: "ME is in recovery state" Appears when I boot my X220
According to the following post, this is likely caused by corrupted firmware. Sometimes removing all power such as what you did above will fix the problem. I have not seen this message before on my X220, but I did have to remove all power such as you did to resolve boot up problems. https://www.del...

Re: "ME is in recovery state" Appears when I boot my X220
Thanks for your reply. The BIOS was upgraded to the latest version a long time ago. When the issue started I did some research & there were some suggestions that the BIOS was involved so I 're-flashed the BIOS, did the restart, the F9, & reset the things the way I wanted them. It didn't make any dif...

"ME is in recovery state" Appears when I boot my X220
When I boot up my X220 (Win7) the first thing to appear on the screen is the words, "ME is in recovery state" in the top left corner. It never did that before today, and it does it every time I boot, even if I boot to a USB drive. BIOS is the latest version. I don't even know what 'ME' is, so how do...

X220 Trackpoint Trackpad not in Device Manager (Win7) [Solved]
I picked up an X220 that had no hard drive. I've installed a drive & set up Windows 7. Everything seems to be working except the Trackpad & Trackpoint. In the Bios they are enabled. I tried switching them off, rebooting, then putting them on again, but no change. In the Windows Device Manager there ...

I envy you... I bought my X220 used. The recovery partition was gone & while a newly installed Win 7 was running, I didn't get install discs. I downloaded some version of Win7 that I used a couple of years ago, but it was less than a smooth install. I find after a few years Windows OS's need to be r...

Re: Fn F5 isn't working anymore.
Glad you got it sorted. Some years ago I used to use Access Connections, but I haven't used it in some time. For me on my X220, Fn+F5 brings up a menu to turn on and off the WiFi, and Bluetooth radios as well as enter Airplane Mode. Seems that's all I need these days. That's exactly what FnF5 does ...

Re: Fn F5 isn't working anymore.
For Fn + F5 requires Hotkey Features Integration drivers and IIRC possibly the Lenovo System Interface driver for it to work properly. How do I enable 5ghz WiFi on X220?
X220, Windows 7 pro. According to Device Manager I have the Intel(R) WiFi Link 1000 BGN WiFi card. Is it capable of connecting to 5ghz? My current driver, version, 14.3.0.6 is dated, 2011-10-27. I've been unable to find a newer driver. If this card is NOT 5ghz capable, is there a different card avai...

Thanks George, your link just goes to the NewEgg homepage, but I think you were pointing at the Plextor M6M PX-512M6M Mini-SATA(mSATA) 512GB for $479.00. That's more than double the price of the Crucial. I think I'll cross my finger & hope the extra heat is minor.

What can I do with the 45mm ExpressCard slot on my X220?
I've seen cards that would give me USB3 ports (my X220 is an i5, so it only has USB2).
Are there memory card that would fit in?
What other options are there?

Re: X220 needs a larger SSD
I'm not familiar with the mSATA option. Is there a write up on how that is done?
Where does the mSATA drive go?
Adding a 2nd drive sounds like a great solution if I can do that.

X220 needs a larger SSD
I know very little about SSD drives. My X220 currently has an INTEL SSDSA2CW160G3 (160GB SSD drive).
I want to replace it with something larger.
Can you recommend a brand & model of SSD?
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Re: Clock gains about 9 minutes per week. X220 Win7
My registry fix didn't help. Laptop still gains time & won't correct itself by connecting automatically to one of the internet time clocks.
Between the time I did the registry hack & now (11 days) the computers clock has gained 12 minutes.
Does anyone have a clue what might be happening?

Clock gains about 9 minutes per week. X220 Win7
I've noticed that the clock (bottom right corner of the screen) on my X220 is always running fast. I have it set to sync with the internet, but I've seen it up to 15 minutes fast. Whenever I notice it's off, I've gone ahead & manually synced to correct it. I just adjusted the registry so it will syn...
