X40 Win7 Graphic Drivers?

I recently had the the need for system which had parallel port and remembered that I had an old X40 (1.5GB RAM) and Ultradock which has the needed LPT-port to be used together with XM1541 Multitask adapter cable to be able to connect a CBM 1571 drive. Several threads talks about the possibility to m...

Re: Any known issues with SSD m.2 drives with T480?

Found the answer and the WWAN only accepts M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD and will not work with M.2 SATA SSD; trick is to find M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD 2242 devices which isn't that easy. Lenovo did offer a 2nd 128GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD; but would assume that there ought to be 256GB as well?

Any known issues with SSD m.2 drives with T480?

Looking to add a secondary SSD M.2 512GB unit to the T480's empty WWAN slot. But, reading around it seems that at least in the past there has been issues (found several comments on Amazon ) with some combinations of brands of SSD drives and T440/T450. I'm tempted to go for Transcend’s MTS400 M.2 SSD...

The X280 comes either with 8GB or 16GB soldered to the board; but can anyone confirm whether the X280 make use of dual channel memory technology in both configuration?

My tuppence worth would be to do a clean install via the media link above and then restore your data from the mechanical HDD - do you have a 2nd HDD caddy or external USB enclosure that you can pop it into, so you can access your data?[/url] I agree with above; make a clean installation and as well...

Backslashnl1,

I've noticed that there are quite a few complaints regarding that the network freezes when using 6300 card; lots guesses why; but one of them seems that the card get quite warm when transferring large files or streaming video. Is this something that you've noticed on your side.

Re: T60 and Intel 330 SSD

Well, my spontaneous guess be that the issue is that you cloned from a mechanical drive to a SSD based drive and therefore some tweaks of the Win 7 system doesn't work out as it should. When I moved my T60 to a Intel X25 SSD drive (once you you went SSD you never want to return to mechanical drive.....

Guess that it's the 5300; would kind of be the natural choice; but then again there might be issues not know. Seen some negative reviews on the 5100. Speaking of never cards; are there other options from Intel to go with?

Having a T60 (2007-FRG with T7200 CPU) what would be the best wifi card (and adding a 3rd antenna) to choose if one would want to replace the original wifi card - 4865AGN, 5100 or 5300 ?

Re: Upgrade to Win 7 x86 or x64

This is what I wanted to hear; I've been jumping to both side in my mind for a while to either go with x86 or x64 on my system. I'm running with a T60 (2007-FRG) that has a T7200 CPU, 4GB RAM and 80GB SDD. So it seems that I'll going to stick with the test installation I've done for a while more :-)

Re: Upgrade to Win 7 x86 or x64

True x64 uses both more disk and RAM and this I can live with; the T60 I got has 4gb but only 3gb is available. My primary issues are older drivers that won't work within x64 that I assume would work in the x86 version. Guess I'll do a test installation of x86 to compare the usage of disk space and ...

What is the general take when it comes to upgrade to Windows 7 on ThinkPad; should one pick the 32-bit or 64-bit version? Well, either the CPU is defect or it won't work with the T60 at all. When I turn on the power it powers up and including the CPU fan starts; quite fast after 1 or 2 seconds it's powers down again. No, errors or audio indications at all (actually I don't know what to expect in the CPU fails or is def...

T60 (2007-FRG) T2400 upgrade to T7400 (SLGFJ) not working

Got hold of a T7400 ( SLGFJ ) and that doesn't seem to be a good choice since the T60 won't start with this CPU. But, from what I understand it should be the same the SL9SE. Question is now, is the CPU defect or is it just the bios won't recognise the CPU due to that it's the SLGFJ and not the SL9SE?
