Re: Rebuilt X60/X61 4-cell "Tank" battery

You're welcome- hope this and kfzhu's post serves to help you in the future! Just a heads up, the X61T 8-cell is far more troublesome to rebuild, half because the cell arrangement is far less intuitive, and also because it uses 103450 prismatics as well as the 4x 18650 cells in the back. It's a very...

Re: Did anyone get a x210ai from tpart.net?

Yep, for those not bothered to access the link- they've confirmed that their second batch is completed and is currently undergoing quality testing and configuration. So they'll be able to accept another 100 or so orders for X210Ais. I'd still recommend that if you want one, to snag it soon... the fu...

Re: What is going on with shipping?

Very strange. But I work for DHL Express and from my knowledge in shipping networks, what that could be is a "ghost label" or duplicate label. Your label might've been accidentally reprinted by the supplier, or somehow another order was imprinted with your information, maybe because they reused the ...

Rebuilt X60/X61 4-cell "Tank" battery

Hello Forumgoers! Been awhile but I definitely wanted to share this as I'm sure a lot of you will like it. I've successfully rebuilt another 4-cell battery for Thinkpad X60/61, also compatible with the X60s/X61s. A lot of this comes from kfzhu1229's knowledge, he is on this forum too- and he's poste...

Re: [WTB] Cable+invertor KIT to put a hv150ux2-100 screen in a T60/T61

There's kits that can be found on tpart.net, but they're quite pricey. I don't know anyone else offhand who has a kit handy or access to one... but the big challenge is flipping the LVDS pinout and adapting the backlight connector. Most of the info can be found here: https://sites.google.com/site/tw...

Dang... that's unfortunate that no one so far is interested! I get that there's some flaws, but it's a cool machine. I'll let the lads in the TP Discord know, there's some EU/UK members on there who might be interested. Best of luck with the sale. I'd buy it if I wasn't so far away... shipping would...

Yep, stick close for any updates... they should be back at it, but last I heard they are quite behind on their order fulfillment. I'd imagine the EC patch is slated to coincide with the second batch they announced.

Here's a link to another post that goes over the details of the delays.

Re: Dug my x60s out of storage, it needs a lot of love

The 8-cell battery is dead, I can't locate either of the 4-cell packs. I do have what looks to be 3 or 4 of the flat battery deals that connect to the docking port, honestly don't remember ever getting those, and I haven't yet tried any of them, instead concentrating on the primary battery. Holy co...

Re: X61 tablet battery replacements?

I don't believe I've put a writeup of the X60T/X61T 8-cell battery up yet, but I have just finished rebuilding one for a fellow enthusiast on Discord- a 93P5032 (which is an 8-cell). As kfzhu mentioned, you do have the big hurdle of sourcing 103450s. They're a flatter, prismatic type of Li-Ion batte...

Grats on the free 600E, it's a pretty cool old vintage nugget. Pretty slick for old software tinkering or DOS gaming if you're into that. dcfbf pretty much gave you the full rundown, but to add to what he said- I've personally messed with the 600E in particular and some mSATA/M.2 caddies may not wor...

Re: Have you seen the classic ThinkPad prices these days?

I used an X300 on half a dozen long trips but its battery life was never great and I haven't been able to source batteries for it for many years so I picked up a used X395 in 2021 which replaced it. The X395 performed well for me this past spring in Europe and for travel I'd recommend to anyone an ...

Given your success with 770 batteries I may have to give it a go. Ah... so you mean when the BMS decides to softlock and pre...

However, I’ve heard that for retro ThinkPads (e.g., the 200, 500, and 700 series), the battery management system is relatively simple. Can you just replace the cells directly and use the battery without any special procedure? Specifically, for a ThinkPad 240, would it be safe and straightforward to...
