Re: T500 with P8400 2.26Ghz - fastest CPU upgrade?

Thanks for taking the time to help out.

This link suggests the highest CPU from the factory was a T9600.

...yet you have a T9900. In your opinion, looking at the spec above, do you think I could go as far as a T9900?

Re: T500 with P8400 2.26Ghz - fastest CPU upgrade?

That's great, but it's not clear if you have a 45 chipset to me.

Would you mind installing CPU-Z (very small and well respected) to see if you have GM45 like I do in the Mainboard section?

Re: T500 with P8400 2.26Ghz - fastest CPU upgrade?

That's really interesting. Did you buy it like that or upgrade?

Would also like to know your chip set from CPU-Z, if you please?

T500 with P8400 2.26Ghz - fastest CPU upgrade?

Hi all, I'm quite confused looking at what is possible to upgrade my T500 (2243-4EG) CPU, as I don't really get why 'P' and 'T' processors would be compatible. As far as I can tell it's a 1066Mhz FSB speed, so is the fastest I may be able to go to is a T9600 processor running at 2.8Ghz. This would b...

Re: T500 Upgrade to W7, Almost Finished.

Hmmm...this is not good.

I bought Lenovo because I trusted the reliability and rugged build quality.

This is disheartening.

Maybe they will issue a fix.

Fingers crossed.

Re: T500 Upgrade to W7, Almost Finished.

It was preloaded on the machine.

I made a backup of all the Vista partitions (PRELOAD, SWTOOL etc) before I removed vista to put XP on and then Win 7, so if I rebuild the partitions to exactly how they were before I can go back to Vista.....but it's a lot of work.

Why do you ask?

Re: T500 Upgrade to W7, Almost Finished.

It's just annoying as heck. I've tried over and over tonight to get the OSD working fully, and to no avail. I've tried all sorts of order and systems to uninstalling and installing again. I gave up on the Lenovo fingerprint reader, and so instead use the Win 7 native support which is nice actually. ...

How frustrating! Thanks for your input.

This is going to annoy me I can tell. :?

Re: Windows 7 install on z61t - questions.

It is not necessary to reinstall everything in order to make OSD work. If I were you, I would do following: 1. Uninstall the OSD/hotkey driver, Power Management Driver and System Interface Driver (and reboot in between if prompted); 2. Install Power Management Driver; 3. Install System Interface Dr...

Hi,

Thanks for this, but does installing in a specific order as mentioned work? And why would it work? I'm dubious because surely there is something fundamentally wrong with the software / drivers.

Thank you.

Re: Windows 7 install on z61t - questions.

Here is the installation sequence that worked for me: 1. Intel chipset driver from Lenovo Vista drivers section (not sure if it is really needed with Windows 7, I didn´t find any mentioning of it in Lenovo Windows 7 drivers section); 2. Intel Matrix Storage Manager (IMSM ) driver again from the Vis...

Re: T500 Upgrade to W7, Almost Finished.

I have this same problem. No brightness OSD. Everything else is okay, i.e. Volume, Light etc Uninstalled and reinstalled Lenovo Fn OSD driver (Hotkey Features Setup), but no change. Anyone got an idea about a proper solution to this? I don't fancy hacking my registry like in some other posts. Thanks.
