Re: I want out of the Lenovo Business
@pianowizard The claims could be accurate. Normally when a manufacturer sends devices for testing or do the tests themselves they do a limited production run, devices from this early production run is then used for all tests and presentations etc. Only a few manufactures do rigorous test on devices ...

Re: slow powerplan apply at windows startup?
How do you check which powerplan the system is using?
It could be that PowerManager is not run at startup to decrease the boot time of the system and therefore the powerplan is enacted after some time has elapsed. Try checking msconfig and see if PowerManager is set to start with the system.

Re: BSOD issue with T420.
It seems that it is a Windows problem. Try the following: 1) Disable the "Always on USB" 2) Restart your computer 3) Enter Standby 4) Plug in your phone, in the same USB port you used when the "Always on USB" was enabled 5) Exit Standby See what happens. If you get BSOD then it is definitely the com...

Re: T420. Which graphics card do I need?
I agree with the comments so far about getting an Intel graphics card if you are not gaming - and let's have that discussion about gaming now: the nVidia NVS (popularily called nVidia Quadro NVS) is a business oriented platform, meaning that the drivers are optimized for CAD/CAM, therefore it is not...

From Amazon: "ExpressCard modules use serial (PCI Express and USB 2.0) data interfaces rather than the ISA (16-bit PC Card) or PCI (CardBus) parallel bus interfaces, improving bus speed in data transfer while reducing the number of signals needed in the interface (2.5 Gb/s [PCI Express] or 480 Mb/s...

Re: Replacement battery for X300
Hello, I don't own a x300 but I have replaced several batteries, this is my experience so far: The production date is the most important factor when it comes to performance of the battery, especially how many cycles you can run. E.g. I have had batteries that could easily endure 6xx cycles, while ot...

Re: Multiple fingerprints for one user account? (X220)
Theoretically 10 persons can access the same account, each using their fingerprint. In the software you are able to set the fingerprint for each of your 10 fingers. If you instead of using your fingers, use the fingerprint of one finger from each of your colleagues in one of the 10 slots, then they ...

No problem
Just checked, in addition to some auxiliary software (adobe and such) the 4th disc contains a few wireless drivers.

Re: x200 wifi troubles; adapter disappears, slow to connect
I have the same problem. I found a solution that works, buts it's not practical: turn off the network cards, using the physical switch, before putting the computer to sleep/hibernation. When you resume from sleep/hibernation, turn on the switch only after you have logged in. This works for me. So fa...

X200t battery problem
Hello, Last Sunday, after using the x200t all day I turned it off in the early afternoon hours with approximately 80% charge on the battery. If we are to believe this, then the T420 will not be available with quad core processors Or at least at the launch they won't.
Otherwise i like them, especially the T420s

I think it's the trackpoint that is activated, try disabling the trackpoint click feature - it should be called "Press-to-Select" in the trackpoint controls.

autorun.inf is used to tell the operating system which programs/files to run when the disk/drive is recognized/authenticated. E.g. when you insert a CD/DVD into the CD/DVD drive the operating system reads the instructions found in autorun.inf and performs the action specified. In the recent years th...

Re: SSD hard drive swap
Daniel Bakker's suggestion is the most feasible, as windows will have to be reactivated otherwise. Generally you will get a hodgepodge of drivers if you take the hard drive of one system and insert into a different system. Regarding your WWAN, make sure that the module is whitelisted for the x201t o...

Retrofit x201t mobo in x200t
I have searched and found that the motherboards of x201 and x200 are very similarly built up, meaning that the physical fit is assured when going from x201t chassis to a x200t. The question is more about if it is monetarily wise to perform this operation - or is it easier to trade the x200t + cash f...

I don't know as it has never happened while it was connected to an external monitor - though sometimes there is a small amount of flickering when i connect a projector, but disconnecting and reconnecting always solve the problem.
