Re: Dual External Monitor - 2 Display Port
Why not use VGA to DP to one monitor, then the DP plug to the other monitor?

Dual External Monitor - 2 Display Port
Hello,
How can I achieve 2 external monitors 1920 x 1080 resolution each with Display ports Cable in X220? (no vga)
Will this config be possible on dual external monitors 2560 x 1600 each? Wouldn't it be to much for the processor/video card?

Re: How to make a USB Charger in my X220
did that, still doesn't charge ok. I believe it's drawing little current from the PC.czatlantis wrote:Try to connect you USB cable only half way in your notebook. Power pins are connected earlier because they are longer (take a look on USB cable) so pins 2+3 remain unconnected(open)

Re: How to make a USB Charger in my X220
It really depends on what your device needs. Mine needs 2+3 shorted. Apple products need some resistor divider and maybe yours need those pins open. Check your original charger My original charger has only 2 pins. So means others should be opened right? Also, Why micro usb has 5 pins instead of 4?!...

Re: How to make a USB Charger in my X220
These cables are useless - modern USB ports in computer can deliver uasily 1.5A but you have to tell your device to draw more current. For example HTC cellphones detects AC charger by shorting data pins. From PC it charges only 400mA, from AC charger 700mA. I made myself two USB ports (male+female)...

Re: How to make a USB Charger in my X220
It is getting energy, but not charging properly. I believe this is because pin 2 and 3 should be open.

Re: How to make a USB Charger in my X220
When plugging, windows alert: USB not recognized, therefore it doesn't charges correctly. Because I think it needs to cut pin 3 and 4 cables.
It's an LG P500 one.

Re: How to make a USB Charger in my X220
Thanks man.
But it seems that pin 2 and pin 3 should be opened. How to do that with software?

How to make a USB Charger in my X220
I want an output of 5V in pin 1 and 4 to charge my cellphone, just like a charger.
I imagine that there should be a driver to do this. (my phone does not have it).
So a driver to force the USB A plug from the computer to output that voltage, Has anybody heard of something like that?

Re: X220 with Native Serial
Why as real as it gets?
It has an UART... device that I have has UART too. so this is real serial, right?

T61p, suddenly shutdowns.... past post solution
Hello,
I posted this in the past:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=93616
I think I've found the solution, two screws of the cd reader had unscrewed, so when I moved the t61, it would immediately shut down. Disassambled the cd unit, screw the screws, and now seems ok.

Re: T61p, suddenly shutdowns, won't start until a while... weird
Yes, remove all that dust. Get a can of compressed air if available, remove the keyboard, hold a toothpick between the blades of the CPU fan to stop it from turning, then blow out all the dust from the CPU cooler. You may even want to remove the keyboard bezel and clean the whole area. Thank you. O...

T61p, suddenly shutdowns, won't start until a while... weird
Hello Sirs, My T61p, was working perfectly, now it's erratic. Sometimes when I shake or move the notebook, its shutdowns completely and instantly, and it won't start again. I have to take the battery off, put it back again, several times to make it start. Like I said is very erratic. I have updated ...

Re: Thinkpad T61p Bluetooth Windows XP, tough case
Wow! Are all the guys in Russia so smart? It does solve the problem. I created a batch file that runs on startup. However there is still something wrong with the bluetooth support, the led is off when booting windows xp. It's indirectly fixed, but I there must be something in the registry that shutd...

Thinkpad T61p Bluetooth Windows XP, tough case
Hello,
I have a Thinkpad T61p, each time I start or reboot, the bluetooth led is turned off. I have to press Fn + F5 (hot key utility) to reactive it.
I want to be always enable. Any ideas?
I think the registry must be modified in order to acomplish this.
