Yes. Flipping the balance back and forth revealed the right channel was out.
Fixed it though.
What I did was uninstall the soundcard in device manager, then reinstalled it. Both channels are working now. No idea what caused the problem. Relieved.

Re: T60 headphone jack - only sound from left channel - fix?
In lieu of replacing the soundcard, would hooking up some kind of external soundcard work?
Also, if the soundcard is soldered to the board, is this problem symptomatic of bigger motherboard problems to come?
Thanks.

Re: T60 headphone jack - only sound from left channel - fix?
Okay, I just tried unplugging the external speakers and moving the windows sound control balance all the way to the right. What happens is I get no sound at all. So it might not be the headphone jack but the sound card, right? Is it possible that a soundcard problem would cause you to lose sound in ...

T60 headphone jack - only sound from left channel - fix?
Today I noticed the headphone jack on my t60 is only outputing sound to the left channel. It's not my speakers because I've tried 2 pairs of headphones and they do the same thing.
I'm guessing something is wrong with the jack itself? Is there any easy way to fix this?
Thanks.

Re: Multi-DVD burner...won't recognize certain CDs?
No, there is nothing wrong with the disc. As I said it plays fine on my CD player, has no scratches. It's an audio CD, professionally released by Warner Bros. It's not a DVD-R or CD-R.

Re: Multi-DVD burner...won't recognize certain CDs?
It is supposed to be a new unit. It came in sealed blue plastic bag.
The drive says lenovo on it. I didn't buy it direct from lenovo though. My computer detected the drive manufacturer/model number.

Multi-DVD burner...won't recognize certain CDs?
Ordered a Multi-DVD Burner for my T60. Popped it in the ultrabay and now I'm having problems. The drive is a Matshita UJ-862. I haven't tested all the functions yet but was able to rip one CD successfully so far. Now I'm trying a different CD and I can't even get the drive to recognize the CD. The C...

Re: How to uninstall Rescue and Recovery 3.0 after HDD upgrade?
I was able to get rid of R&R 3 using Revo Uninstaller, and I got R&R 4 installed now. Can I still use R&R 4 to make a bootable backup of the partition?
If you aren't using R&R 4 what are you using to backup the partition?

How to uninstall Rescue and Recovery 3.0 after HDD upgrade?
Recently I upgraded my T60 HDD. I cloned the old HDD to the new HDD using Apricorn software. Anyway, I want to upgrade my Rescue and Recovery utility to 4.21 as my laptop is currently running 3.0 and I can't get the "create recovery media" function to work right. Every time I try to click on the "cr...

Re: HDD enclosure that will actually fit a Lenovo HDD properly
Pardon my ignorance, but can you point me to directions on how to remove the "caddy". I don't want to unscrew something from the HDD that's not supposed to be unscrewed.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Very dusty t60...micro vacuum for dust?
So my 4 year old t60 is very dusty at this point. There is visible dust on the keyboard and when I upgraded the RAM and HDD I noticed a bit of dust on the inside. I've heard of these micro vacuums that are good for sucking out dust in computers. Are these safe to use without causing any damage to my...

HDD enclosure that will actually fit a Lenovo HDD properly
Are there any good enclosures that will actually fit a Lenovo HDD properly? I bought an upgrade kit w/ an enclosure and cloning software but the enclosure doesn't really work right with a Lenovo HDD. I was able to get it to work but not without modifiying the enclosure in a way that won't really wor...

Re: Upgrading T60 hard drive - best way and best software?
Update: I was able to successfully clone the drive and get the new drive installed last night. So far, it is working okay. Apricorn's software was a breeze and I used the instructions on their website which describe what you guys are saying...on a thinkpad, you have to install the new hard drive fir...

Need new battery for t60...where to buy?
My t60 battery is 4 years old and only holds a charge for about an hour. I want to get a new one, preferably a 9 cell battery. I noticed the Lenovo outlet has this battery: http://outlet.lenovo.com/accessories/batteries/55y9145.html The description says it will work with a t61, but doesn't mention w...

Re: Upgrading T60 hard drive - best way and best software?
Is it possible to make recovery disks of just the partition? How would I do that? I definitely do not want to make recovery CDroms of the entire drive. I've thought about buying a big external drive for backups but it seems like externals drives crap out and die without warning all the time because ...

Re: Upgrading T60 hard drive - best way and best software?
Unfortunately, I don't have a DVD drive on my laptop...so I would have to make the recovery disks via CDrom, which is insane with almost 40 gigs of data. I don't have a suitable external drive either and I'd rather avoid doing it that way since that would mean buying one. I know people have installe...

Upgrading T60 hard drive - best way and best software?
I have a T60 that has a 40 gig hard drive. I'm thinking of upgrading it to a 160 gig hard drive and wanted to know what the best way was. I don't have a DVD-R optical drive, so I would need to do the method where my stock hard drive was backed up via the new drive in an enclosure. I see that Newegg ...
