Good point, GrandMasterKhan! I definitely fall into the former category with the mocha late and the cinnamon buns and just how did you know I already had breakfast first??? Haha.

Re: Anybody here installed PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 in T510?

Mine came from the factory with the faster 10600 RAM. It doesn't run any faster than the standard 8500, so it's really not worth a premium. I only got it as it was the only way to get 8GB total ram from the factory (they didn't offer 2 x 4GB 8500).

Re: Do any of you think the T510 is huge?

I don't find mine huge or heavy in the slightest. I was shocked when I took it out of the box just how compact and light it actually is. A few months later now, I'm still regularly shocked every time I pick it up. Now, bear in mind that I downsized from a very large, very heavy, 17" Toshiba Qosmio G...

Re: new T510 purchase - advices please (Pic Warning)

By the way the 8 GB RAM you have seems to be quite expensive right now, any reason for having 8 GB RAM. I plan to have 4 GB RAM and then upgrade to 8 or 12 GB RAM in one or two years once the RAM price is down. What is your thinking on this? To be honest, I likely don't need 8GB of RAM at the momen...

Honestly I don't think you should wait for the FHD. The HD+ is really quite good so far as I can tell (and I'm relatively picky). The FHD is also a 95% colour gamut screen, which is really only beneficial to those doing professional photo/video editing and production. The increased resolution might ...

Seriously though, SD cards below a gig are in dollar stores now. I think this may be the mfgr's reasoning for not including dummies these days. You can pop in any cheap one and use it for readyboost if nothing else. (what I do) The only drawback to that is the card will be consuming [an admittedly ...

I have 1.15 on my T510 and it dramatically improved my keyboard! There was a known issue in the older BIOS verisons of both the T410 and T510 (and some other models too) where the keyboard would sometimes mix up the order you typed certain letters in when you typing quickly. That has gone away with ...

The help on the Lenovo site covers all other panel types, but doesn't cover the HD ones - I'm assuming they're 1600x900 (but the WXGA and WXGA+ differ in resolution, so may wel...

Re: T510 noise - difference between integrated/discrete graphics

Must be some kind of a sale/promotion on the one with discrete graphics? Normally it is a bit more $ than the integrated option. For the scenario you've described, the Intel HD graphics are ideal. I've never seen the discrete option in person so can't comment on it's relative noise. But in terms of ...

Interesting that your memory score is only 5.9; my T510 with same CPU (and therefore same memory controller, since it's on-die) scores 6.7 for memory. I do have 8GB though, not sure if that makes a diff to the WEI numbers. Also my RAM is the faster PC3-10600 (1333MHz), but it only gets run at the re...

Bear in mind if you do go with a T510, there is still a chance of having the left-side palm rest creek (mine does quite a bit) and the packaging is just as lousy. I don't think I've noticed a lose screen bezel or misaligned logo, though I may have just not noticed!

As per what you're saying at that high resolution it has to be Dual Link DVI-D..? Cannot be Single link DVI? Right. Actually I just looked on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface) and it says that Single-Link DVI supports up to 2098 x 1311 in the 16:10 aspect ratio. So y...
