Re: T43 recovery disks in T41/T42

Thanks George and apologies for the very late reply. I had to scoot off to the west coast for some urgent work.

I was able to install XP from an original DVD and download the drivers off Lenovo's site, so I've got it covered.

Thanks once again.

T43 recovery disks in T41/T42

Is it possible to use the recovery disks generated from a 14" T43p in older but similar 14" T41s or T42s? Or if I remove the HDD from the T43p, will it work in the T41s/T42s?

SOLD: T43p 2668-GEU for parts or whole

I've decided to part with my fully functional 14" T43p 2668-GEU laptop. Willing to sell it as a whole or in parts. The outer body itself is not in great shape, so is the battery(20mins) but everything else works like a charm. It works well with XP, not so quick with Win 7 and since XP is dead, I'm n...

You could buy a cheap USB based external CD/DVD ROM drive off ebay and install XP from there.

Re: T41, odd "freezing" issue

Hi, My 2 cents if its of any value. I recently had the classic freeze issue where everything would freeze and the only way out was a hard restart. That being said the cause of my freezing was a faulty RAM module(a Samsung one if I remember correctly) which when removed my laptop did not freeze even ...

Re: T43p: Which HDD-SSD process should I follow?

Before I could give away my T43p 2668-GEU since it was not working well with the Samsung 840 pro SSD, I took the original HDD (Hitachi 60GB, 7200rpm) and installed Windows 7 32-bit on it and while the performance of normal usage(booting, word, browser, shutdown) is acceptable, viewing youtube videos...

Re: T43p: Which HDD-SSD process should I follow?

After a lot of thought, I've decided to say goodbye to the T43p and give it off to an older relative who wants to use it for his daily dose of minesweeper and solitaire. I plan to remove the SSD and put back the HDD before handing it over. The SSD now heads for the T400. So Thanks to all for the hel...

Re: T43p: Which HDD-SSD process should I follow?

Johan/All, I downloaded and ran Sysinternals/Microsoft "Process Explorer" and "AutoRuns for Windows" and did not find any program hogging the memory. So I decided to d/l CrystalDiskMark and here is the result. Im not an expert in deciphering these numbers so any input would help. https://www.dropbox...

Which HDD-SSD process should I follow?

Ok, so good and bad news. Good news: I followed process 1 and the whole installation went smoothly till after the end. The system continued to do 33 updates on restart but then rolled back automatically. But after rebooting once, the updates were successfully installed after about 4-5 restarts. Bad ...

That's because the internal bay has a PATA interface and the SSD is SATA.

Re: 3 versions of Kingson SSD available for T60p upgrade

I'm just trying to find the simplest 128gb SSD with least tweaking. Although I have done re-installs on my previous HDDs with XP from a DVD, after much reading I find a lot of tweaking would be necessary. I don't have any data to be transferred (data backed up), so everything will be fresh from scra...

L-shaped connector for T43p power adapter *PICS*

Hi All, I would like to use an L shaped power adapter on my T43p(where the power pin enters the laptop) and was wondering if I could get your opinion if this particular adapter would work? Thanks in advance for your suggestion. http://www.batteryking.nl/products/laders/lader-laptop-notebook/lenovo/c...
