Which is the best IDE-ZIF adapter for an X40 laptop? I want to buy the Samsung 1.8" HS082HB HDD and want to make sure I get the right adapter.

Hey, when moving from the old Hitachi HDD to an SSD (albeit IDE) and running WinXP, are any new drivers required? Normally I would think SATA.... but I'm not sure about a IDE SSD like Kingspec. Can I simply do a backup and restore to the new drive?

I have this exact same whining problem on my X40. It's coming from the laptop, not the AC adapter. Did you ever get it fixed?

I see eBay has several X40 motherboards for sale. Would that take care of it?
