Just to be clear, this thread was discussing the X1, not the X1 Carbon.
The X1 Carbon is quite a bit lighter at just under 3lbs and is better a better screen/battery etc.

You're right, it's not that difficult but I don't ship large things often. Anyway, I've contacted the first buyer in line.

Thanks,

Re: FS: T61p with fan in need of replacement

Update: There are several buyers lined up to purchase this. However, I have not been able to get to the post office yet to get a shipping estimate. It looks like I won't have time to format/pack and ship it out until the new year. Sorry for the inconvenience.

[SOLD]: T61p with fan in need of replacement

I have a T61p that I used primarily at home. It was top of the line back when the T61 series just came out complete with additional accessories. However it is now suffering from a failed fan and shuts down when overheated. I bought a fan off of ebay and tried to replace it myself but ended up stripp...

Re: CPU and GPU melting - don't worry?

Hard to know what you're talking about without pictures and the video isn't that clear.

Out on a limb, could you be referring to the thermal paste/thermal grease that is on the CPU and GPU? It's gray and some may leak out onto the sides of the CPU/GPU.

I wouldn't do actual case mods, but changing LED colour and painting the keyboard does sound intriguiging. Sadly, for the former the colour that would interest me (white) would require surface-mount soldering that I am not nearly enough pro for. I am not sure how well the latter would work given th...

I was considering using black vinyl dye to paint all the keys black. Basically I wanted to remove the lettering from all the keys so they're blank.

I modded my IBM Model M keyboard in the same way a while back.

I don't have everest but running CPU-Z, I get a Vcore rating bouncing between 1.25 to 1.338V as well on my T61p 15.4" T9300 3GB 200GB 7200rpm.

I had the same dilemma. I ended up choosing the 15.4" for the graphics card and the widescreen resolution. I carry it to school every day in my backpack and it is noticeably heavier than my X41t (obviously). However, I quickly got used to it over a week or so. I've seen the 14.1" T61p and well.. I l...

I have the opposite complaint. The hinge on my T61p is TOO stiff. On all my old laptops, they were solid enough so the screen didn't wobble but loose enough so that I could lift up the screen without having to hold the front palmrest (weight balanced). With the T61, I have to hold the front palm res...

FS: T61p 15.4" with latest Penryn processor - NEW $1500

Hey, I ordered a new T61p from Lenovo last month and received it yesterday. I opened it but realized that 15.4" is bigger than I'm comfortable with (long time X-series user). I was going to return this to Lenovo but figured I'd see if I could pass on my EPP family and friends savings to anyone here....

I ran vista for a while on my 1.5ghz x41t with 1.5gb ram.

It ran pretty smooth but as you said, Intel GMA 915 doesn't work with Aero. That being said, I didn't find the tablet features significantly better and without Aero I really saw no reason to run Vista so I went back to XP :)

You don't need any special software to do it, it's just a simple registry edit (assuming you're on Windows).

See this post: http://www.jonlee.ca/remap-capslock-the ... eless-key/

But replace the scancode with the following:

Code: Select all
