you can only burn the discs from a working Windows environment. if you can beg or borrow an oem xp disc install xp then install System Update 3.14 - let it update the drivers then install Rescue & Recovery. you'll then be able to burn the discs for future use. i have a set of C100 recovery discs but...

this is a touchpad issue, i've seen it on a T42 running Windows 7. if you've already got the correct navpad drivers installed try a free utility called touchfreeze, it locks the touchpad while you're typing:

hi. use dban or similar before you re-install, it will wipe all partitions even if you can't see them.
