Re: Thinkpadders Rejoice (*LARGE PICS*)

Keyboard is nice, but never should have been changed in the first place.

Display is a massive disappointment, not just the aspect ratio but the bezel too. Unless the 51nb guys develop a display mod, it's a deal breaker for me. I can't be a White Knight for Lenovo on this one.

Re: X62 problems, quirks, and fixes

Has anyone updated to the Windows 10 Creator Update? I can't get my ultranav drivers installed anymore. Every time I run DPInst.exe it says the drivers are installed but nothing shows up in Device Manager, so I'm unable to install the X220 ultranav drivers manually. e: Figured it out. I just followe...

Re: Are series xx40 and newer really that bad?

x450 and later are ok. The aspect ratio and keyboard can use some work, but screen resolution is decent. Some newer designs even have xps 13-style thin bezel displays. I would buy newer thinkpads if they were at least 16:10 and 7-row keyboard. I could live with the current 6-row since I began seriou...

Re: Reasons why the 14" screen got terrible options.

Was there an X60 with SXGA+ IPS display? Or just the tablet version? The reason there is because tablet displays have special quality needs compared to regular laptops. Even the XGA found on X60 tablets are better than the non-tablet X60.

Re: thinkpad T70 - weird resume from suspend issue

Linux has always had weird suspend / sleep issues with closing the lid, especially with newer Linux kernels, and especially on newer hardware (cpu, chipset). What you're describing could probably be replicated by any 7th gen Intel processors in Ubuntu.

Re: X62 problems, quirks, and fixes

I hope you have a way to hard flash your motherboard in the worst case scenario. Even if you tweak the fan behavior through the BIOS, there will never be a way to control the fan through any kind of OS, due to lack of sensors, correct? I know that there is a relatively easy method to flash a custom ...

Any chance we'd be able to get "Go Down" and "Go Up" links at the top and bottom of threads, that act as "End" and "Home" when clicked? I've found it incredibly useful for traditional forums on touch displays and mobile, as well as on my desktop when I don't want to physically type "End" or "Home". ...

Do you have more details on using tiptrans? Do I just purchase on wedian then have it shipped to the tiptrans address? Or is it easier to use the Assisted Purchase option? e: I did it using the assisted purchase option. $658 USD before shipping is pretty steep, but I guess that is the price of an i7...

Re: X6x SXGA+ Mod - is it reliable if done correctly?

You can get an adapter from taobao that you plug the regular LCD cable into, the other end of which ends up inside the actual SXGA+ display. Here is the link . Of course you may need a proxy site like yoybuy.com to purchase from taobao. For a pic and an excellent guide to doing the mod, go to the ge...

I removed the digitizer and did the screen mod to fit it into a non-tablet X60 chassis. Someone else made an X62 Tablet by installing an X62 into an X60 Tablet shell.

Re: How many of you have already got the X62? And any new interest?

My X60 Tablet SXGA+ display works just fine with the X62, so I believe any display that is compatible with the X60/t or X61/t should be compatible. My X62 purchase was a smashing success. The one thing it is missing now is better fan controls. I'm more interested in the T70 now. Let me know if you e...

Re: T61p vs T500 vs W500

I've made this mistake before: there was never a 4:3 15" T61 (only the 14" came with that aspect ratio). Since the discussion is comparing T61/T500/W500, I don't believe the 14" is of interest.

Now, T60/61 Frankenpad is a different story altogether.

If you're experiencing horizontal tearing in Chrome, disable smooth scrolling in chrome://flags. For the gaming, Bibin's fix (50Hz to 60Hz) probably addresses the issue.
