Hmm, I don't. So you're thinking its a Mac specific issue?
I'll give it a try at a buddies house and see.

T60p external HDD encryption?
I pulled a drive used in the external HDD caddy of a T60p and can't seem to read it on my dual boot mac in either Win7 or OS X. Is this drive encrypted somehow? I don't remember doing any special procedures except maybe formatting to NTFS which Win7 and OS X should read. If the Thinkpad did do somet...

Restore partition same for all T6x?
Do the restore partitions work for any model T6x or are there specific drivers loaded to particular configurations? I'd think not since it doesn't seem efficient but who knows. Asking because I'm prepping my T60ps for sale with a restore and SSD boot drive. I did the IPS one fine and all went smooth...

T60p output to DVI monitor
I got a DVI-D (dual link) monitor and want to output to it from my T60p (w/o dock) but can't find a definitive answer whether or not its possible. The monitor has the connector second from bottom here http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/fb/DVI_Connector_Types.svg/181px-DVI_Connecto...

CTO driver updates
I've got a 15" T60p model number 2007-CTO but every time I use the utility to download drivers it won't update like my standard configuration 15.4" T60p and I can't find it manually since it was custom. Is there anything special I have to do to get drivers for my machine? When I first got the 15.4" ...

Re: T60 with ATI Radeon 1400 becoming flaky -- options?
Similar problem on my 15.4 T60p. I was worried with it not being able to play Hulu or HD videos full screen before but lately its been getting worse. If the computer goes on standby while I have a movie playing on MPC, the video won't resume after coming back from standby and leaves a blank frozen M...

Re: HELP T60p locked:Cannot log on, Fingerprint/bio scanner bad?
How about removing the KB-palmrest and then logging in to set Windows any which way you want? And modify BIOS as well, while you're at it. This worked. Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, if no scanner is installed the software won't allow users to make any changes so I'll either have to get ...

Re: HELP T60p locked:Cannot log on, Fingerprint/bio scanner bad?
Thanks but unfortunately, all that refers to settings within Windows. Right now, I can't get into Windows since I'm stuck at the logon screen. I did find this though. The last question addresses my problem but I'm still digging around for the actual solution. http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/security/fpr_fa...

Re: HELP T60p locked:Cannot log on, Fingerprint/bio scanner bad?
Anyone have another solution? I've tried going into BIOS, ThinkVantage and nothing seems to work.
The only thing I can think of doing is getting another fingerprint scanner installed since it hangs on the diagnostics screen.
I'm out of ideas and want my laptop back.

Re: HELP T60p locked:Cannot log on, Fingerprint/bio scanner bad?
That's what I thought too but when I try to get to the PW logon screen, it says only users who are not enrolled are allowed to do that or something to that effect. The only other option I found was to un/reinstall the fingerprint software but I haven't had time to dive into it. The one thing that th...

Re: HELP T60p locked:Cannot log on, Fingerprint/bio scanner bad?
That was one of the first things I tried including disabling the security measures etc but once Windows boots, it shows the same logon prompt loop of Ctrl+Alt+Del or "Swipe your finger". What would cause the computer to suddenly act this way? I haven't even been able to find many other instances of ...

SOLVED T60p locked:Can't log on, Finger/bio scanner bad?
My T60p was working happily this morning until I pull it out of standby in the afternoon and the fingerprint/bio scanner, whatever its called, stopped working. I tried going into BIOS to turn fingerprint off and re-enroll my prints but no luck. If I press Ctrl+Alt+Del to try alternative logon option...

Re: SSD recommendation
I did a lot of research on this since I wanted to go the same route. If you're worried about their projected longevity, wait a bit or spend the $$$ on a SLC drive like the Intel X25E or an Enterprise drive. They are rated for more write cycles for each memory cell as opposed to the cheaper MLC. Othe...

Thanks for all the replies, I just sent off a message to the seller asking him what he'd like to do. Turns out the Ultrabay doesn't work due to the poor reassembly but I will get pics up. I don't know how to link the ebay auction but this is the auction ID: 130463210316 After looking it over again the screen bezel definitely looks like it's been pried open/reinstalled improperly as is the bottom chassis. I think I'm going to try to get my money back on this instead and hope everythin...

"New" T60p dissatisfaction. Justified?
I was excited to have finally landed a 4:3 T60p which came today but I'm a bit disappointed to be honest and I don't know if it's a problem with me or the laptop. Firstly, the screen is thicker and heavier and the case looks different than my 15.4 T60p, the screen is also a bit dimmer which I expect...

Re: Upgrade my wifi adapter in my T60p. Choices?
Can our T60s utilize the "Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN" card on the new W series? I'm looking to get a card that has more range and better connectivity. My T60 currently has the Atheros AR 5008 a/b/g/n but at my school, everyone can get on the Wifi while mine is super slow and laggy. I'm not s...

I have the same question. I already got the 4GB RAM but plan to get a SSD but have a hard time justifying the $$$ I'm dumping into a laptop that can only support 667FSB and DDR2 RAM. Re: Swapping processors in T60
What about jumping from a T7200 to a T9X00? The cache size jumps to but the FSB/QPI is limited to 667 so its moot right?
They are way pricier than I expected though at $200-300.
Btw, I'm using this chart to compare.

I've tried each stick individually in each slot and even in my old laptop but nothing seems to work. I didn't think having a higher clock speed would make such a difference. 4GB RAM upgrade to Blank screen on boot
I put a Kingston HyperX PC6400 2x2GB RAM kit in my T60p and it doesn't even show the ThinkVantage logo, just a blank screen. Re: V5250 Driver mod
Won't that require a format? I assume that the restore partition would reinstall the V5250 drivers. If that's the case, I may format in a month or so and try it that way or just install a second HDD.
Has anyone had success making the V5250 run different drivers/games decently?

Are you trying to clone the stock drive on your T6x? I've been on the hunt for an IPS T60p for a while but none of them have the v5250 with 512mb RAM. Were they never configured this way? I currently have a 15.4" T60p with the 512 card and I don't want to downgrade as I do a lot of photo editing and SW/CAD work. I read that the C2D chip can be swapped...

Re: Password/fingerprint on lid close
It seems to be working fine now. I suspect the magnet lid sensor was just loose or there was a glitch in the software.
The way I have it set up is the computer locks itself when the lid closes much like Fn+F2 requiring only a finger swipe to unlock and sleep is mapped to Fn+F4.
