Thanks for the above; I did manage too find online videos (e.g. the Lenovo technician repair site) and it does look dead simple to install.

Now, the next question: any recommendations on where to purchase one? eBay seems to be the best bet so far.

X200 with SSD overheating

Hi. Last year my HD died so I upgraded to an SSD. Machine now flies on boot-up and is generally quieter. However since the upgrade I've had a number of hard crashes - the system will crash completely, and the BIOS will report that there is no HD installed. Leave it for a 1/2 hour and it will be fine...

When we upgraded my wife's Macbook Pro to 8GB RAM, I took her 2x2GB chips and dropped them into my X200 - no issues as I type on it. :)
