Maybe I am lame or maybe things have changed, but a while ago there was a listing of particular machines with student discount prices. I cannot find that information from the link provided so I must no longer operate that way?

Student Discount?

Is there still a student discount offered? I cannot seem to find a link on the Lenovo site that used to be on the old IBM thinkpad site.

I recently added the same Samsung and MiniDockII to my system. I had the same concerns, read the same posts, and first decided to update again all video drivers and hope for the best. In my case it all does work. At first I thought there was a problem, but I just did not have the DVI connector secur...

I bought a hard drive adapter for my T42 3mu and it worked just fine. I then had to return that machine and it was replaced with another of the same model. I kept the original hard drive adapter. When I tried to use it in the new 3mu machine, it would hardly fit. I tired backing off the screws on th...

Hi James,
I found all links as you indicated: out of stock or back ordered. I think I will order the 100 gig 5400 version for now. Then, when the other becomes available I will get that one and use the 5400 as an internal backup.

Thanks again,
HW

Thanks James:
I thought that is what they meant, they only support 80 gig.

I am trying to find the 7k100 100 gig, but no luck. I may just go with the 100 gig 5k100 (5400 rpm) model since I need one in the immediate future.
Thanks for the reply!

Will T41p take a 100 gig drive?

I called IBM today to check about installing a 100gig drive in a T41P. They indicated it will only accept an 80 gig drive. Has anyone successfully installed a 100 gig drive in a T41P?
Thanks

I bought some of the Klipsch 2.1s at Best Buy and returned them after they were DOA. I do have some of the HK Soundsticks II I picked up at Costco. I am going to use them until I can pick up some Powered Studio Monitors. People seem to rave about the Swan M200s for computer audio and there are some ...

External USB Audio or PCMCIA Card

I am adding some external speakers for music listening while I have my T42 in a mini dock II. I want to get good quality listening audio while the machine is docked using Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers. Does anyone have experience comparing the audio quality of a PCMCIA card such as the Indigo or Aud...

I am favoring the Klipsch -- I have not heard them, but they get rave reviews. I spend lots of hours at the keyboard writing and music helps to get the creative juices flowing so, I am going to pick some up tomorrow and see how they work for me. Thanks for the comments on your experience. I am favor...

I plugged the external speakers into the headphone jack on the T42 and that seems to work just fine. I am now looking for some alternative speaker solutions so I get a little better sound. I might get the Klipsch Promedia 2.0 since they seem to take up little desk real estate but they get decent rev...

I have not called yet, but this solution works for the time being: " Get a spare stereo mini-phone plug from Radio Shack and when the unit is docked, plug it in. Not very elegant but it's the only way to turn off the internal speakers that I'm aware of without affecting output to the external speake...

External Monitor: L200P, L191P, Samsung 213T?

I have a t42 M3U with the 9600 video card. I do lots of text work writing reports and I am looking for an external monitor and keyboard. Return T42 (2373 M3U) or Work Out The Problems

I am at day 29 of the 30 day return policy. The CD/DVD failed to open a couple of weeks ago and a new one was sent. The modem and bluetooth failed to operate last week. Called Service on the modem problem (they are sending a new card) and they suggested returning the machine within the 30days and tr...

I bought the L1u and recently exchanged it for a 3mu for about the same price, only I did get an EPP deal. I liked the 3mu, but I wanted a larger hard drive and something just a little smaller in size, so the 14.1 screen is ok for me, even with the smaller font. You can adjust the screen font size a...

EPP Options From TABook?

I can use the EPP site to order a new machine. Does anyone know if it is possible to order a model listed in the TAbook that is not in the current offerings on the EPP site. I am looking for a light and powerful machine. Spouse has a t41P. The SXGA screen is a little small for my aging eyes and alth...
