Re: Still possible to find a 1400x1050 T61p?

Never see them on eBay for sale, not even in completed items. I used to own one a long time ago, so I know they exist! Perhaps all of them had the Nvidia issue and they all died? Nope. I even have one, fully working and running fine. Maybe I should at last rebuild it into a frankie. I myself did ac...

Re: T601 driver issues

Now now. For scrolling - this is due to one of Windows 10 updates and, on some point, Windows 7 that will not enable both scrolling and middle click (only one can be active) - this could be fixed with an app built by a fellow thinkpadder - tpmiddle. Works perfectly on all my W7+ systems. For ultrana...

Re: Looking for an SXGA+ panel for my T60 2007-57U

Sharp display mentioned by RBS here may be the best cost-to-effect solution, albeit I advice against it if you have zero ways to properly calibrate its colors. After handling 3-digit number of T60s I have never seen Boe-Hydis SXGA+ screen so cannot tell much about it (I guess it was not used for Eur...

Re: Thinking of upgrading...

It's all about how much more power you need. Accutype keyboards are not half as bad as mentioned everywhere here at the forum - they are 3 classes better than anything offered by competitors, and enable KB backlight - a very important feature for me. I personally found myself using accutype with ple...

Also take note that X220, while being cheaper gives an option of IPS display - unavailable in T520.
Why not X230 actually? Costs pretty much the same while being revised a full generation ahead.

Re: Just got a T61 with nVidia Quadro NVS 140m!

Did the T61 have revised boards from 2010? AFAIK only the 14.1" 4:3 (non-widescreen) with NVS140M (available from TuuS). I've had both 16:10 14,1" and 16:10 15,4" revised boards in my hands including T61p. They seem extremely rare, but they are somewhere out there in the world. I know that. I think...

Re: Just got a T61 with nVidia Quadro NVS 140m!

I've seen the old one alive, revised dead and updated 2010/2011 chips dead. 3-digit number of T61/T61p's got through my hands. I'd strongly recommend getting a board (or two) as spares and live happily. I'm working on a 7/12 T61p for about half a year and a T61 w/board from TuuS for four years or so...

A31p or A31 is very rare unit
I wouldn't agree with that. A well-shaped unit with Flexview is, but I have a couple of A31s I'd happily sell for low money. A3x are rather obtainable... yet!

EDIT: or maybe it is this way in Europe?

Re: Where to source dead/nonfunctional 15" T60s?

Well I can see them locally in Poland - no longer than a year ago they were very easy to source, cheap and great shaped.

Now for a dead unit one must pay the likes of $50-70, and the shape is not throwing me on my knees.

Re: T61P

This highly depends on your system. I'd not place X9000 in 14" unit. In 15,4" it works perfectly fine and with no overheating issues. Worked on mine ~1,5year, it topped somewhere around high 70s at 2,8GHz undervolted, and mid 80s OCed to 3,4GHz. Take in mind that actually CPU is the bottleneck in 15...

G41 is a great system and one of a kind, while G50 is just a very interesting piece of history, with the huge upside of running super-cool. It's... different. I think that comparison to R60e is pretty good here.

Now I'm pretty sure I should make a short review of this one :)

Re: A-Series V.S. G-Series

Does G50 support Core 2 Duo CPUs and can it be retrofitted with an IPS screen (seeing as it appears to only have Intel GPU option)? No and yes. T2700 is the top here; 3gigs of RAM are top as well. SSDs work fine, albeit at SATA-1 speeds. IPS screen from T60 is almost a drop-in replacement. It does ...

You can get a W540 with better specs for between xxxxx. I'm aware, but W540 is no W530; not to mention both these systems are substantially more expensive in Europe. This is the very last one that is possible to upgrade with classic keyboard (and the most powerful same time with k2000m), and almost...
