Re: X62 problems, quirks, and fixes

Other than that: Battery charge and discharge times are a bit... say, they go mad sometimes. I've installed BatteryBar and it worked just fine with both charging and sicharging times... for two days :) then I needed to reinstall it to make sure what is the exact working time and how long would the s...

Sure it's UXGA?

The web says it's a XGA LCD.

X62 and not working middle trackpoint button

As in the topic: I can't figure out how to enable the middle (scroll) button in my X62 / W7 64-bit.

It just does not reckon it has one. This thing is crucial for most of X62 owners (I believe), so I hope somebody out there have had such problem and managed to cope.

Re: T61p laggy videos

OK, it works now.

Updated nVidia drivers to 8600gt equivalent, installed some extra codecs, disabled hardware optimalization both globally and locally (browser). Now 1080p video is not a problem.

Re: T61p laggy videos

Well, both are a no-go.

I tested it in the most simple way - turned on a video on youtube on my X61 w/X3100 and T9300. 720p video jumps on without a single lag, same athreos 9380, same place in my house, same wireless power, lower overall power.

Re: T61p laggy videos

Try disable hardware acceleration. Tried to disable this one via windows properties, but it was deactivated. So I have added a DWORD in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\Avalon.Graphics "DisableHWAcceleration" and set it to "1". No effect. EDIT: also tried some lighter browser, but with no succe...

T61p laggy videos

Hello, I have quite a problem with my T61/p; when it comes to watching any video via browser. The system has no problems running fullhd videos as long as it's downloaded, runs SolidWorks 2017 well, play games like Civilization 5 smoothly, but for some reason I just can't watch videos on the browser,...

Re: Just bought a T61, few questions

How do you tell fx570m runs hotter? I have owned a gazilion of nvs units and quite a couple of fx units. In each case fx ran cooler under load, even with T61p fan and revised board from TuuS. I don't think fx are more or less faulty. There was simply no "safe"date" units, and they were rarity even s...

Re: Improving T60 cooling by cutting away plastic "lamellas/gills"

Well do not get me wrong, but removing those grills is more like a shooting in the air. As long as the total vent space is larger than total fan exhaust space it will do nothing. I have done several mods with cooling systems (elitebooks mostly), and the main factor is the fan, contact space and mate...

OT, but why do you insist on calling them 15,1" screens?
Most likely because a mistake that is repeated several times gets to mind and stays in there :)

15" T60p with non-IPS display?

I have recently came across a very... weird machine. I have no idea how to name it... a T60/T60p hybrid?

Type 2007-FE2; MTM states it's actually a T60 with FireGL gpu... Does it really have a combination of XGA and FireGL GPU?

Bay batteries are Li-Poly I suppose.
Mine holds 100% charge anyway (SONY, T60), 4 years of use, ~70 cycles.

Re: T43 battery issue

And even brand new IBM cells' lifespan decreases fast over time after sitting on the shelf for a decade. Can't agree with that. I have quite a number of '03 batteries that hold 80%+ charge, with Panasonic 9-cell being a top cherry of that pie (92% charge, 872 cycles, production date of 2005). Start...

You should have in mind that it is the workmanship that made those A-units shine. When I recover I will be back building mine, at least just as far as I will be able. Well I run 2 batteries on my T601f - both dated 2007 (so they're decade old now). 54Wh/56Wh from SONY after 195 cycles, and 68/78WH from PANASONIC after 577 cycles.
Not to mention my T43 battery that still holds almost a full charge.

So, let's say, their longevity varies ;)

Out of curiosity OP, what is the CPU in your recently acquired W500? T9600 - already "upgraded" with P9700. With D-IDA it is pretty much the same while way cooler. I would appreciate guidance on undervolting T9400 processors. Most the T500s in my house are running those and they're hot as hell even...
