Right clicking with pen

Running Win 7 x64 on x61t. Under Control Panel, Pen and Touch, have enabled 'use the pen button as a right-click equivalent.' When I click the pen's button, I get a circle (donut) appear, and not the right-click. I have not downloaded any drivers outside of what appears in Windows Update, must I dow...

Re: Not-so-weak R61 has issues opening Windows 7 folders

I could not get the Win 7/Aero effects to function in Safe Mode. That's probably as intended. Back in normal mode, under 'Personalize' changing to any other default theme other than Win 7 default seems to have mysteriously resolved the issue....!? Strange. Will report back if issue turns out to not ...

Not-so-weak R61 has issues opening Windows 7 folders

I seem to have a driver and/or configuration issue with an R61, as while not state of the art, this hardware should be handle this. When I open a folder or window, say 'My Computer', the animation that expands the window is very choppy. It's not related to file list or thumbnail generation in a big ...

X61T BIOS settings for SSD

Anyone care to share their BIOS settings for their X61T optimized for SSD?

If it makes a difference, BIOS version 1.24, SSD is the Intel X25-M (G2) and the 320 (G3).

Re: X-25M SSD in X61T- 9.5mm or 7mm version preferable ?

My X61t takes a 9.5 mm disk. Since the disk is not screwed into the machine but instead into a floating caddy, I imagine a 7mm disk would jiggle around a bit. Open your machine up and take a look (it's only 1 screw). Intel's marketing indicates that the 320 series is more reliable than the X25-M, a...

X-25M SSD in X61T- 9.5mm or 7mm version preferable ?

What is the preferred thickness of HD/SSD for X61T ? Is the 9.5mm too snug a fit ? Will the 7mm move around without a spacer ? Any tips, in particular, regarding the x25-m ? (I know the new series 320 are out but understand these may not be as reliable as the proven x25-m and the benefits of going G...

Re: Full vs Half mini PCI-E

Thanks. Is a bracket necessary? Won't the 2 screws hold the half card in place?

In the case of wifi, my needs are better served with an Atheros card like the ar9280 but Intel's 62xx series does review well.

Full vs Half mini PCI-E

For a given mini PCI-E adapter (e.g. identical wifi card), which is the more preferable option and why: full or half size ?

Is there benefit to heat dissipation with the half size ? Does the half size have to be converted to a full size (with a bracket add-on); if it is model specific I have an X61T.

HV121P01-100 v HV121P01-101 on the X61T

I have an X61T with the most basic XGA screen- 1024x768 no multitouch and 'd like to upgrade to an SXGA screen. Searching and reading online, it seems the original/real deal (as opposed to "compatible" which I should avoid) are BOEHYDIS and that either model HV121P01-100 or the 101 will do, but a 10...

Re: R40 15" screen compatibility with later models

Let's see if I've understood correctly... My screen unit (bezel and all) can be screwed in by the hinges to at best an R52 which still has a 2GB limitation making the 'upgrade' for my purposes (more RAM) pointless. My LCD (even stripping bezel, etc.) can not be replaced into an R60 or R61. (FYI, R61...

R40 15" screen compatibility with later models

Hi, I have an R40 type 2722-GCU which has a 15" SXGA+(1400x1050). Rather than upgrade to the max of 2GB RAM (real max) PC2100/2700 which isn't cheap and which won't be enough anyway, I'd prefer to buy a used later model (like R/T 60/61) and fit my existing screen. Second hand R60/1 especially seem t...
