Re: battery discharging even when plugged in
Yes it is normal to loose some power over time. The battery uses the charge to keep the internal circitry going. The reason this appears in the thinkpad and not other systems is because thinkpads (by default) only start charging when the precentage drops below 96%, to reduce the number of cycles on...

Re: battery discharging even when plugged in
Which wattage of power supply do you have? Is it genuine lenovo? Do you mean the capacity is degrading by 1% every 1.5 days? Wattage is 65 and yes, it is genuine. Yes, I loose 1% of the battery every 1.5 days even though it does nothing. Of course it can be charged back to 100 but these are useless...

Re: 90W power switcheroo for quad core T520 - is this possible?
If windows is smart enough to utilize al cores then yes, the many the better for different programs (each running on one core). But except new games, most applications aren't really designed with parallelism in mind. Parallel doesn't just mean gui on one thread and the logic on the other, like most ...

Don't remember exactly, but I think I read somewhere that the _laptop_ is not letting you, even if in theory, 90 watts could be enough.
BTW why a quad-core ? I don't think the time has come for quad-cores on laptops.. they consume too much and they won't be fully utilised by applications.

battery discharging even when plugged in
I have a t400 and my battery (9cell) is discharging even when the laptop is plugged in. BIOS is verified, so when shutdown it won't consume useless power (lan, usb, etc). Even if the laptop is plugged, when _shutdown_, it still consumes power from battery. Apparently it also happens if it is _on_. P...

T400 screws missing ?
I have bought a t400 and I think I have 2 missing screws. The weird part is that the review of the laptop on notebookreview (http://www.notebookreview.com/shared/picture.asp?f=42216) also has one of the screws missing (upper left, near the edge). Are they like that? Can somebody post a picture of it...
