I agree with Sugo's comment that there is hardly any bass at all. The sound is really quite disappointing. I didn't expect it to be great, but in my T42 even the ability to bring up the volume is less than you'd expect. I'd say the full volume is what you might expect it to be at about 50-60%.

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me what the difference is between the defragmenter and disc clean up? I ran the defragmenter and it ran relatively quickly. On my previous IBM - a desktop Aptiva E5U Pentium II !- I could never get the defrag to complete. On on the disc cleanup utility page it says...

Can someone tell this newbie about using the defragmenter on a relatively new T42? I appreciate all the info I get on this site.
