WTB ThinkPad Advanced dock - full size with UltraBay
I'm looking for an Advanced Dock - full size with UltraBay. The one that T61s fit onto. Obviously, it should work - the last two I bought one had a bad Ethernet port and the other likes to keep un-docking itself and has bad USB ports (all of them including the UltraBay). It needs to have the keys. P...

So now it checks and "corrects" you for "inclusiveness as in changing mankind to humankind or blacklisted to blocked, etc. So are we supposed to go back to 1969 and correct Neil Armstrong's words as he set foot on the moon????? jeez... I'm staying with 2010 or 2000 (for the W98 systems). A 20-60GB HDD is is a better choice. You can back up your now working install and restore it to a larger HDD when you get the chance.

Re: IBM Thinkpad 760 Promotional Images
These are nice pics. Now I realize why there were "D" models. I still have my old 760LD. From the pics I can see that if you didn't get a model with a "D" after the 760x then there was NO WAY you could fit the CD / DVD tray in it because there was no notch at the top of the front of the ultrabay fro...

These laptop drives have all been thin film media for many years. the old iron oxide media went away with the old 5.25" drives.

Re: Found - WTB - T20/T21/T22/T23 hard disk caddy/cover
I have at least 1 or 2 spare HDD covers. As far as the other parts go, They are on the T1s or T22s in my collection. So you just have the HDD cover and not the lid? I'm not sure what you mean. I have spare HDD covers for T21 & T22 (& T30, etc) , but lids - and I'm referring to the laptop lid itself...

Acronis true image backup and restore is a better option. And you would have the backup image in case you need it again sometime in the future.

I thought the 1920 T500s were 1920 x 1200, not 1080 because they are 16x10 screens.

Max IDE laptop drive for these (and all other laptops) was 320GB. Much more common are 100, 120, 160, or 250 GB. If you look REAL HARD, you Might be able to find an aftermarket hdd adapter that converts a SATA drive to IDE for the ultrabay. But they sort of left the party several years ago. the prim...

T20, T21 or T22 would be your best bets. T21 & T22 are almost identical except for the processor and I prefer either of them (and I have both, bought new, way back) over the T20. They will take T30 batteries too (but not the other way around!). You can get them with Win98 SE and either make a DOS pa...

a couiple notes:
The T61 15" widescreen 6 cell battery does Not stick out the back. Onlt the 14" WS models do this.
I dropped my wife's T61 6463 (15" ws) onto a tile floor and the chassis is a little askew but it still functions fine.

Re: T500 Win7 Docking Issue with Dock 2503
Windows will re-arrange the drive letters, especially if one of the HDDs is in the ultrabay of the Advanced dock. It treats the ultrabay as a USB device and will bump a drive in there to a higher letter. With all the drives I use, (HDs in the ThinkPad Ultrabey, and in the Adv Dock ultrabay, USB conn...
