If so-- your only option is to replace the motherboard or the alternative method which we do not discuss here (it would be too advanced for most people anyways as it involves soldering).

The 9 cell battery only has 75 cycles on it, laptop is in almost pristine shape, slight scuffs here and there on the bottom, but is otherwise like new.

Problem is the sticker also leaves superglue from hell residue. Ebay had a 30 buck off anything coupon, used it and got a new LCD lid for free via it. How hard is it to remove the lid?

With the lenovo thinkvantage stuff, are there any issues with windows 8?Cigarguy wrote:I'd check to make sure there indeed is not a COA. Most of the time eBay buyers will say this just to cover themselves against Microsoft.
As for OS, either Win 7 or 8 will work fine it's up to your own personal preference.

The system lacks a COA The COA on these machines is under the battery, in the bay itself. You have to remove the battery to see it. I got it off ebay, quoting the auction here " This auction is for ONE IBM Lenovo Thinkpad T510 Core i5-M540 2.53Ghz / 4GB/ 320 / DVDRW / Web Cam . This unit was pulled...

T510 Operating System Question.
I bought one recently that is lacking an OS, i am not able to access it yet (i started a new career as an over the road driver) as it is at home right now, in a fedex box. It has no OS sticker on the underside, and has a wiped hard drive. I am debating buying 7 Pro or 8.1 Pro, how well would this sy...

I had one of these, i loved it until the nvidia graphics decided to die on it. influenced the HP buy after that (i normally go used laptops) with the ATi x1600.
Only thing i disliked, up to the death, the mono speaker.

i won a 250GB hitachi drive off ebay (took a gamble, 26 bucks for a sata 1.5 GB/s 5400RPM drive to repalce my 60gb drive) and a 9cell Lenovo battery that is 4 months old for 30 bucks. If the Easiest way to do the AHCI drivers is to download the Intel F6 disk. After you download that install Nlite and tell it to intergrate drivers. Upon doing so it will have the AHCI drivers installed and you do not have to muck about with the F6 floppy method or having to install the drivers afte...

First, i perfer vista to 7 on my T60 due to the 1024x768 screen, vista seems more suited for it. Second, i like having vista on it to show off how decent the OS actually is, since most people dismissed it as windows ME the second. Thinkpads don't age. a 2006 looks the same as a newer one except for not being wide screen in my case. or the lack of the awesome tri color IBM logo.
