USB boot linux on a T43
Is it possible? The reason I ask is that the hard drive in my T43 is on its way out, and when it comes down to it, replacing it simply isn't worth the money. But I do have flash drives laying about, so if I could get an install of something on there that would work, it'd breathe new life into my onl...

Re: T43 to T42p display upgrade
SXGA+ screens require a different inverter, a standard XGA can be used for testing purposes...but should not be made into a permanent solution. IBM never "officially" offered SXGA+ on any Intel-based T43 unit. That being said, some corporate orders were shipped with 15" SXGA+ IPS panels, and these ...

Is there any major difference between Ambit and Bartlett versions of the cards?lukee wrote:Atheros-chipset based cards are a better choice for T4x series.

Re: T43 to T42p display upgrade
It's the cable that tell the GPU what resolution is needed. You must have the correct cable for SXGA+, XGA cable with SXGA+ panel won't work. Gotcha, what about the inverter? Is that reusable from XGA to SXGA+? EDIT: And I suppose I should confirm, SXGA+ works fine on an 15" T43 with Intel video, r...

Re: T43 to T42p display upgrade
Eh... What if I were to just get a SXGA+ panel from ebay, and swap it into one of my lids? Would the inverter/cable from the XGA work, or would I have to purchase the right ones for it? Specifically the N150P3-L01 one, it seems to be the most common one on ebay.

Re: T43 to T42p display upgrade
Harry is correct. IBM disabled the UXGA resolution for internal LCDs on these boards. There was a member who got it to work by a BIOS hack if I remember correctly, but only in Linux... Good luck. That's absolutely silly, why would they do that? I've found reference to that thread multiple times, bu...

Re: T43 to T42p display upgrade
Fixed a few errors in the first post, but...
... Crap. Why doesn't it? From everything I can find, the chipset should be capable of supporting it.Harryc wrote:That's an Intel T43. I do not believe it supports a UXGA LCD.

T43 to T42p display upgrade
I decided to jump at the chance to upgrade from a SGA display in my T43 to a UXGA display from a T42p. I got the display (actually a complete lid assembly [and bluetooth!]), and just spent 2 hours installing it Good news: It works! Bad news: Not properly! At POST, the right side of the screen is cut...

Re: T43 and Windows 7 Networking
Do any other wireless devices (or wired) work with this router? Any devices in the area running on the 2.4Ghz band that might introduce interference? Like a cordless phone? Another laptop was connected wirelessly fine, as did my Kindle. Two other desktops were connected wired with no problem. The c...

T43 and Windows 7 Networking
I've got a bit of a problem with networking in Windows 7 on my T43. For some reason, all connctions (wired and wireless) are no longer able to connect. When I first installed 7, wired connected fine. One day after restarting, it would no longer connect, and diagnostics were stating that there was a ...

Re: Updating T43 BIOS on Windows 7
Ah... well crap. Oh well, I guess it's not that big of a deal. There's no way to get them working, with the exception of writing my own? (That won't happen)
EDIT: Well that's odd... they appear to be working now?

Re: Updating T43 BIOS on Windows 7
Whoo! Completely updated now! Though that modded BIOS about gave me a heart attack when it finished, it said there was an error and to reboot using the crisis recovery diskette. Restarted and it works fine though! Now I suppose I have another problem. The drivers for the integrated Intel chipset jus...

Re: Updating T43 BIOS on Windows 7
I managed to get it to work! Though... not on my own. I had a friend of mine create the floppy disk for me (since it's apparently impossible on W7) and send me the files, which I copied over to the bootable USB drive, and ran from there. Only up to 1.23 currently though since I was waiting for a res...

Updating T43 BIOS on Windows 7
BIOS: 1.17 ECP: 1.03 I just got a T43 1875-DMU as a graduation gift, and I'm doing my normal thing up updating everything that I can on it. I just upgraded it to 2GB of RAM and Windows 7, and then I realized: Windows 7 isn't supported by the non-diskette BIOS updaters D: What I tried next was to cre...
