Thank you for the responds. So even though on ebay it says: Intel Pentium M 2.0 GHz 2Mb 400 FSB Laptop CPU SL7EM, that wouldn't work on the Thinkpad R51? Trying to get as much speed as I can. If not, then its the PM 745 (SL7EN).

It's a Thinkpad R51. I have 1.5 gig of ram and a 7200 HD on there. Both ram and hd I had laying around, so no $ invested. Had to buy a $20 keyboard as the original one was messed up. So now it's the cpu that I am debating in buying between 1.8ghz/2m/400 or 2.0/1m/400 or 2.2/512k/400. Ok, guys help m...

Is there much of a difference in speed if I was to upgrade from a 1.6 /1M cache to a 1.8 /2m cache cpu? Is it worth the cpu upgrade?
