Kensington ClickSafe Lock - Hard to unlock?

Hello everybody, I recently bought this Kensington Lock where you secure a little anchor to the lock slot on the laptop and then push the lock onto the anchor to secure it. To remove the lock you turn the key and pull the lock off. My lock provides a lot more resistance to being pulled off the ancho...

Re: x220t Windows 8 issues

could you share the way you've got the powermanger working? I've just downloaded the latest driver from lenovo and installed it, but the program is just nowhere :S The PowerManager is a different program, you simply installed the driver. What you need to do is to get the power manager software for ...

Re: x220t Windows 8 issues

What works: Bluetooth Works very well, pairing with my phone and my bluetooth headset was very easy, and quicker than under Win7. Wireless LAN Works as expected, but I had far less trouble signing into my university network. While I had to set a certificate and a couple settings under Win7 I only ha...

Re: x220t Windows 8 issues

W8 sounds like a complete disaster. But have you tried the Lenovo Newly Released Drivers page to see if there are any new patches/software upgrades which might help? Well, it is not the complete disaster I thought it to be. Though I must admit, that I only managed to do it with the help of some "ha...

x220t Windows 8 issues

Hi folks! After spending 3 hours of setting up Windows8 on my X220t and trying to get it to work exactly as under Windows 7 I got down to these problems. I have looked for quite some time on the internet for solutions, but I am afraid, that none of these can be resolved. If one of you does in fact k...

Re: ThinkPad X220t tablet FAQs/hints/tips

Just a question. Though it applies to other X series tablets as well Is there a way for the system to disable the trackpoint when it enters tablet mode? The machine can certainly recognise it's in tablet mode. It'd be nice to have a way to have it turn off so the back of the display touching it doe...

Re: ThinkPad X220t tablet FAQs/hints/tips

Thanks for taking the trouble to post up such a good list. I found it while searching out how to permanently disable the touch pad . I knew I could disable it via Control Panel / Mouse, but I've found that if my X220 goes to sleep, when it awakes the touch pad is active again. I'm still looking for...

Re: Rapid? boot

Well, I know that I could download it from Lenovo and install it on my vanilla Windows 7 installation, though - as said above - it didn't improve anything. Now I have the original OS configured by Lenovo installed on my SSD, but the start-up time is still about 30 seconds. My Control Panel says that...

Re: Rapid? boot

What laptop and OS are you using? I'm getting 10 seconds till welcome screen and 15 seconds till desktop on my X220 with a slow Intel SSD and stock Windows 7 x64 Pro (with Lenovo EE 2.0), your timings seem to be too high. I am using the X220 tablet and Win 7 x64 Pro (not stock and w/o Lenovo EE 2.0...

Rapid? boot

I reinstalled just about everything this morning and thought: Hey let's try what rapid boot can do for you. So I timed the start-up w/o rapid boot installed: 30 seconds till welcome screen 43 seconds till desktop And the timings with rapid boot installed: 30 seconds till welcome screen 43 seconds ti...

Re: Lenovo is right with using the same screws everywhere

I had the same thought when I disassembled my X220 tablet. It really is helpful! :D

It is not only an advantage for us though: They only have to supply two kinds of screws when manufacturing, and the workers make less mistakes that way.

Re: HOWTO: Making a 7mm SSD out of a 9.5mm Crucial M4

You don't need to do anything special to get a 9mm SSD into an X220. Just slide her on in. Getting it out is the tricky part, requiring the removal of one screw, then using one screwdriver to pull the SSD out by the hole left from the screw, and the other to wedge it out of the slot. I didn't know ...

ThinkPad tablet convertible FAQs/hints/tips

While configuring my new X220t to fit my needs, I came across a few issues, difficulties and annoyances, so I decided to share my or other people's solutions. Questions specific to ThinkPads: Problem: The LED of the fingerprint reader is on, even though my laptop is turned off. If you noticed the gr...

HOWTO: Making a 7mm SSD out of a 9.5mm Crucial M4

Hi Everyone, I just signed up because I own a ThinkPad X220 tablet since a couple days. If you are like me and want an SSD inside your laptop, but don't want to spend the extra (insert appropriate amount and currency), then you probably have thought of buying the HDD version and replacing it yoursel...
