Well it looks like I didnt really overpay...
The warranty is what ended up killing me...but well worth it imho.
The config above ended up being 775 Dollars with the standard.
About par for retail.
I guess I should be happy with it.

Will Lenovo cover the difference after a sale?
So I bought a T61 T7500 w/ integrated graphics and it looks like I overpaid :( A week after I bought mine they ended up posting a sale with the Coupon that brought the price down about 50 bucks. Can I call customer service and have them refund the difference? If so, after how many days is this court...

Regarding price... I did pay a premium of 250 bucks for a 3 Year Warranty and Thinkpad Protection...Heck, the warranty cost nearly 1/3 of the actual laptop itself. Without the warranty it would've ended up being about 800 bucks. That being said. I don't recommend anyone skimp on the warranty. My 3 y...

I've made a post highlighting some initiatives I think we should undertake to elucidate some of the problems that have come about as a result of Solectron Outsourcing and the decline of IBM service in general. http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?p=248421#248421 If you agree, I'd be obliged if y...

Although, i honestly believe you'll hear of the horror stories more often than the stories telling us how great IBM/Lenovo/Solectron service is....this is getting more common than I'd like. One of the main reasons IBM cited for consecutive loss of profits was their customer support and service outfi...

Wow...this thread has honestly made me lose faith in the Thinkpad name. Sure there are claims that the T60 is as pretty well built, but the real question is: can it stand up to SOLECTRON? I've been avoiding some issues with my thinkpad because I've needed it lately. It seems they arose after a fan i...

The Ultimate Computer chair...under $50??
Been tracking holiday sales... But have been unable to find a decent deal on a computer chair for my new found love of sitting. Leather or no leather is not an issue. It's more a matter of price v.s comfort. Adjustable Arms are a must, but it cant be too confining. hopefully with a bunch adjustments...

What's IBM's policy regarding Depot repairs and user upgrades. I know the FAQ Mentions removing the HD and such before sending it in, unless the parts are otherwise, involved with the problem. But what about when I take my laptop apart and have to send it in to Depot? What's IBM's policy on user upg...

Maybe the more apt question isnt the quality of the thinkpad as it comes new in box from the ODM to Lenovo the distributor. But more so, the quality of service that Lenovo and its subcontractors have been providing since the buy out. Maybe someone should start a thread documenting a balanced perspec...
