Thank you laz... it seems that it has solved the issue... i wonder why the behaviour changed suddenly... but it doesn't matter. The problem is solved.

curious wifi behaviour - geek HELP
Hi everybody, I'm one of the maniacs people that wants to get the best of his thinkpad (by weekly windows updating, software updating, undervolting, tuning the cooling system, etc...). I usually solve my problems by myself but this time i can't find the cause of my problem. i have a curious problem ...

extreme temperature
Hi, just to show you that my t43p was running stable at very high temperatures (i forgot to shut down the fan control before gaming and suddenly i felt that my keyboard was becoming very hot...). Here are the temps : [10.01.2006 19:36:45] Fan: 0x00 / Highest: 93°C (90 73 57 93 44 n/a 30 n/a 73 71 66...

Thank you so much for the speedy update ;-) What do you think about these settings ? Level=52 0 Level=57 1 Level=62 3 Level=65 7 Level=70 127 level=80 128 I saw that when i put the 127 value, your program says it's fan level 63 and the fan runs at 6600rpm (i feel it's the same speed as when you just...

Re: BIOS 1.24
The new BIOS 1.24 for T43/p-26xx provides an option to disable 2010 error: Actually you can't disable it... It will display anyway, but if you activate the new bios option, the msg will not block the boot process, it will go further about 10 seconds after display the 2010 error msg (like if you hav...

@people who wants to make their thinkpad "fanless" by forcing the fan to be off : If you don't want to fry your machine, check the checkbox "Use only multiplier #1 and voltage #1"in NHC so your cpu will stay at its low speed even under load. This avoids sudden high temps when a process eats 100% of ...

...But the thing about moderately high temperatures is that they don't instantly fry the electronics - they just induce increased wear (due electromigration, oxide breakdown, thermal paste dryup, evaporation of volatiles from plastic, etc.). So even if 55°C at idle with fan off has the same effect ...

Shimodax fan control tool : sharing values
The goal of this thread is to compare values from Shimodax fan control tool (see this thread : http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=17715 ). I'm curious to see if we could isolate some temperatures and by examinating the difference between them, we could perhaps understand to which sensor it b...

Just dared to run it in active mode directly without exiting notebook hardware control. It seems to work on my t43p (see sig. for more specs). I just didn't see any difference between some fan level... 0 -> shutdown 1,2 -> same low speed 3,4,5 -> same middle speed 6,7 -> same high speed I don't know...

make some search on the forum to find settings samples... But my own experience in this topic is : - all coefficients are not used in speed stepping (not all of 6x to 15x multipliers will be used, in your case) so make settings only for the ones that are effectively used... - use dynamic switching s...

T43p fan behaviour descriptions - comparison
On my t43p, for a desktop use in a 20°C room, during the 1st 15 minutes, there will be no fan. After that the cpu will be at about 42°C and the fan will begin to fan in its 1st speed (the speed that is quiet even in a library or a classroom. i estimate that this speed make the same noise like the hd...

christopher : lucky guy ;-) I made all the tweaks makable on a t43p (undervolted to 800Mhz@0.700Vcore, powerplay set to minperf,...)... now my t43p can wait 1/4 hour before switching the fan on (before it was 5 minutes). For me it's impossible - even in dream - to make my t43p be quiet for 1h30 like...

Lol... it's just to have a shorter way to switch the powerplay settings in other situations than when i want my t43p to be the quietest possibleCoolDragon wrote:...
Why do you need these two profiles?
...
I also used the 2 profiles to be able to compare the difference between balanced mode and max perf.

Same conclusion as all of you. My specs are in the signature. I made some tests in classrom and found a setting that kept my t43p's fan at level 1 during 4 hours. Cpu downvolted to 800MHz@0.700Vcore and blocked to this speed. Power manager set to maximize performance (to allow higher temps without t...

When you read given posts, it seems that guys are unhappy with their machine... I agree with you My t43p after undervolting, modifying the cooling system will not fan during the 10 first minutes. Then it will fan in its "1st" speed. Which is completely acceptable, even in the quietest room. But afte...
