Re: Which power management drivers should I install on my X220?
I am also curious about this. I installed Windows 8 on my X220 as well and have been using the Windows 8 native drivers for a while. I haven't noticed any significant change in battery performance over Windows 7, but the lack of a lot of the lenovo apps on the fresh install is nice. One thing I do r...

Re: Couple of Questions about the X220
My X220 came in the mail yesterday. So far I've got a bunch of thoughts about it, and will be posting them soon. I'm pretty sure I'm going the keep the machine since there would be a 15% restocking fee to send it back, but I haven't decided 100% yet. I will say, I have never used a laptop keyboard t...

Re: Confirm, WaterField for 13" Air is perfect fit for X220 w 9
My X220 with 9 cell batter is a perfect fit for the Waterfield case (horizontal with flap) that I bought for the 13" MacBook Air. Honestly I couldn't ask for a better matching case for my X220, even though Waterfield lists a different size. There is no slack whatsoever, no wasted space, just a snug...

Re: Couple of Questions about the X220
I did look into that, but the M4 is $89 for 60GB and the mSATA is $100 for 40GB and the M4 is a much faster SSD than the intel mSATAs from what I've found. Although I may change my mind. This laptop isnt my primary machine by any means, so I won't really have more than 2-4GB worth of personal data o...

Re: Couple of Questions about the X220
Well, I just made my decision, I ordered the X220, worst case I send it back, swallow the 15% restocking fee and get the air instead. I ordered the 2.5GHz i5 320 HDD (will probably end up installting a crucial m4 60GB) IPS w/win 7 HP. I work at my school's help desk and we had an R60 in the office. ...

Re: How to duplicate Restore and OS partitions on new drive?
Did you look into clonezilla at all? That should be able to copy both partitions verbatim from the HDD to the SSD. As far as pointing your data files, that might be trickier. iTunes has support for external libraries so that shouldn't be an issue, And I know you can (at leas this was the case in win...

Re: Couple of Questions about the X220
Thank you for all of your replies! They have been most helpful. To help clarify the machine I was looking at had the middle range i5, IPS, camera, ThinkPad b/g/n wireless, the 9-cell, fingerprint reader, & the 320GB. I plan to upgrade to an SSD right away though, I only want/need 64GB (as this machi...

Couple of Questions about the X220
I'm a student looking at a new laptop. I have narrowed down my search to either the X220 or the 11" MacBook Air. I currently own a PowerBook G4 15" which is starting to become too cumbersome to carry around between classes and such. Right now, I'm leaning towards the X220 due to its faster processor...
