Re: Shipping to/from EU and USA problems

Of course you need to know how to navigate the system Greetings, sir! So how would you recommend sending that T430 cpu US -> UK?.. It doesn't have to be quick but I wouldn't want it to be lost for 3 months like our box of 15" panels.. Someone who has a business account with shipping insurance could...

Re: Shipping to/from EU and USA problems

I can ship a motherboard almost anywhere on the planet from usa with tracking and insurance for $40, even less without the tracking and insurance. Of course you need to know how to navigate the system, if you walk in retail or use usps website it will cost about $60, other carriers like ups or fedex...

Hello guys, one of our forum members bought all my 15.4" inventory of post August 2008 boards a couple years ago. I do have a couple Intel boards, maybe even new in box. Its the 4:3 boards that were really rare as there were none made in August 2008, but IBM had some manufactured in 2011-2012 for th...

Re: LF: Recovery media for W500 with Win 7

First of all keep in mind that the 500 series both the T&W variation was shipped with Vista not Windows 7. They were later available with a free Windows 7 update and I do have that update disc but the update was 32-bit not 64-bit. If you want 64-bit Windows 7 the best option is a t or w510 64-bit se...

For the record these will work on t61 model. The t61 is pata but the ultrabay sata adapter converts it to use sata drive. These adopters are handy if you want to transfer IDE hard drive data to your Frankie. Colonel Mike, good to see you bro. I might be able to get you one of these NOS, but I think ...

My first concern would be the right class of cpu is used. It is a penryn capable board so flashing the bios isn't required, but the right class of cpu is

With a working CPU chip it should beep without ram installed.

Ebay system has no recourse if a buyer returns different parts. Many of us have experienced this, I've even had a guy who advertises fixing laptops buy an lcd from me, shipped in 3 boxes, returned in an envelope claiming dead. It was his gpu that was dead, and the lcd worked when returned, but was n...

widescreen T60 can be updated with a T61 15.4" motherboard, or whole chassis. Then you can increase ram to 8gb.

We no longer live in the Commerce system of caveat emptor, today the sellers have more to risk than the buyers. Anyone who has done business on eBay knows how easy it is for buyer to screw a seller and very difficult for the reverse. I think the biggest thing you have to fear buying laptop parts is ...

In my opinion the best fan for this laptop is the t61p. I have these available for $20 and new NOS for $30. Send me a PM if you would like to purchase.

The t500 fan does not fit properly and I don't believe there is any significant advantage over t61p fan.

The only answer I can give you on this is that Lenovo Never released a t61 b i o s with 64-bit winflash therefore there was no b i o s to modify. If you want to flash your laptop you will probably need to use the bootable CD ROM disk that also comes with Middleton bios. Maybe you can experiment and ...
