I've had the same problem pop up rarely. Tonight was first time I checked event viewer and found same entry -- four in a row. My T43 was unresponsive and screen was blank, though it still recognised a USB drive being inserted/removed!

Yeah, I wondered about that too. The CD is bootable and loads everything into a RAM disk in memory. That way you can "copy" the file.

Agree: The T30 has only USB 1.1 support. I bought a USB 2.0 PC card on ebay for about $15 some time ago. I believe you can find PC cards that offer USB and FireWire. You might go that route for more flexability....
