Difference in the same RAM condition
> crashnburn Thank you for comment. I checked again the hard disk performance and start-up time difference of WinXP between old 160GB and new 320GB in the same RAM condition (old 2GB). I got a same improvement result (320GB harddrive improved read performance and faster start-up time of WinXP than o...

Big drive(320G) in my X60T
Hi all! Already many people tried this, but..... I got a new big drive Fujitsu MHZ2320BH G2( 320GB/5400RPM 2.5"9.5mmH) here in Japan(Akihabara) ,with reasonable price $120. So I upgraded my X60T(SXGA+) ,replaced old Hitachi HTS541616J9SA00(160GB) with new FUJITSU MHZ2320BH G2(320GB). At the same tim...

I recommend you to use dual channel mode operation with same size and same type memory, and dual channel improves graphic score in Vista in X60/s/T

Re: DDR2 memory performance in x60 tablet
Hey, you have two variables there. To measure how big a difference dual channel makes, you should compare 1x1GB with 2x512MB instead so that you have the same total amount of memory in both cases. I know that, but I do not have 512MB x 2 any more(already sold X60),My machine 63668KU. Does anyone try...

Re: DDR2 memory performance in x60 tablet
Among all the offerings in x60 tablets, some come in pair of module when others in single for the same capacity for the 1GB models. Do those with 2x 512MB actually perform better than those with a single 1GB piece because of DDR2? If I have a single 1GB, should I change to 2x 512MB or get another 1...

Re: SXGA+ Now Orderable
I haven't been following this section closely, so forgive me if this is common knowledge. You can customize and buy a ThinkPad X60 Tablet with a 12.1" SXGA+ (1400x1050) screen and 1.83GHz Core Duo CPU. We can customize it with SXGA+,but we have to pay attention about shipping delay such as http://w...

Re: Configurator up and running
You should check the service manuals, but I don't see any reason why you can't install the memory yourself even if you can't configure the machine with the memory you want. I can't imagine why Lenovo would put a ceiling on the amount of memory in the tablet but not in the X60/s. I checked a documen...

Re: Configurator up and running
It's up indeed, but rather disappointing that you cannot get more than 1.5GB RAM unless you use a slower type of RAM. Anything up to 1.5GB you get PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz , but once you configure more than 1.5GB , it only offers PC2-4200 DDR2 SDRAM 533MHz. :( In 2GB case, can we configure 2 chip...

Again, i'm interested to hear your impressions(overall performance and Aero graphics) running Vista, in case somebody had tried it on a similar T42 machine. Thanks. Aero requires more than 128MB Video RAM and Pixel shader 2.0. GMA950 meets this minimum spec. I have been using X60(T2400 1.8GHz/2GBra...
