i think this is normal since my T40 light doesn't do any better than whay you described. I rarely use it. Turning on your light is a better choice.

you got it..ECC is not going to work on Thinkpad You need non-ECC RAM.

I got the battery finally and it's made by Sony. So far no problem with the transaction, thanks IBM before my warranty runs out next month

I fianlly called IBM and the tech guy said he will send me a battery and I will hand him back the defective one, no problem. Should get it with 5 business days.
