Re: Intel 6205 WiFi card failure?

How about checking/replacing the router ? I already inspected it as soon as another (emergency backup) laptop with TeamViewer was connected to it via WiFi and found nothing wrong there... can't imagine why it'd possibly want to block Internet access from one laptop behind itself both via Ethernet a...

Re: Intel 6205 WiFi card failure?

It doesn't seem like WiFi card failure anymore: just tried connecting the laptop to the router with an RJ-45 cable and despite the wired link comes up the ping fails across it too. Never seen anything like that before.

Intel 6205 WiFi card failure?

Hi All, Got the following problem with Intel 6205 WiFi card in an X61s (with modded BIOS - whitelist removed): the actual wireless connection stays up at 240Mbps or 270Mbps as seen by the wireless home router located in the working distance (was working fine until now), there are no signs of any iss...

X1 Carbon type 3460-1F4 / W7x64: Fn+F3 and Fn+F5 no longer work

Hi All, After working perfectly fine since inception i.e. for years Fn+F3 (screen lock) and Fn+F5 (wireless) apparently stopped working on my X1 Carbon type 3460-1F4 (1st gen) under Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit some time earlier this month (I didn't notice exactly when). Re: USB3 via WWAN slot of X61s

That is not easily done. The USB 3.0 socket is nearly 3mm deeper than the USB 2.0 socket. If you cut out a piece of the motherboard on one of the right 2 USB sockets to make the USB 3.0 fit, you will lose the 5V power supply of the socket. I was actually thinking of modding the single left hand sid...

As for AHCI that seems interesting about the chipset command switch. So are we to assume toggling that switch does not do anything to enable AHCI? I feel there's somewhat more to it but hopefully not that overcomplicated... let's hope Intel will get back to me with further details. Also how come th...
