SimpleTap 3.2?

When looking thro software for the x220 I came across a youtube video showing simpletap, and while I know it's been discontinued by lenovo, it looks like it might add some interesting features for a multitouch tablet like the x220t and x230t, is the reason for them dropping support due to windows 8 ...

x220t Touch Screen Protectors?

Does anyone know of a place to get good, possibly tempered glass screen protectors for the x220t multitouch screens? The only seller I see for a x220t screen protector is Photodon on amazon and reviews mention it's slightly smaller than the active area and you lose some touch sensitivity, and they'r...

Nah, I'll keep the mod, I can keep my fingers off the advanced settings  I'm just curious as to what they all do, but I'm not gonna experiment, and I like my whitelistings, and I'm sure someone will figure out all the settings out in time.

Re: Modded Bios and Processor Fast Strings.

I've bricked plenty of machines while playing around with bios. It's not a myth and it's a terrible feeling when you first realize you've bricked a machine and . Have since unbricked all of them using 'flashrom' and a raspberry pi model B. I have the McDonnell BIOS on my x220! Let me boot it up and...

So why do you think the write speeds on the internal x220 SD port are slower than the external ones?

Whoops, I meant to say write speeds were slower than the external readers, I have a x220t btw, still be kinda nice to find that transcend reader, it sits flush and so do the SD cards, a rare find apparently, and will still be useful as SDXC is planned to support 2TB capacities eventually.

Re: Transcend Express Card Reader for SD/SDHC/SDXC/UHS-1 (TS-RDF1) ?

The reader is connected to PCIe bus, and can achieve UHS-1 speeds. Confirmed be my personally. :) http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=111973#p728124 I don't recall any Thinkpad where the reader is connected to USB bus. Even before PCIe they were using PCI (e.g. X61). Hm, thanks for the corre...

I know the x220's are SDXC capable, but I don't think they can achieve UHS-1 speeds since the reader is connected to the USB 2.0 bus?

Re: Large storage capacity on the go, or reasons why I would NEED a SSD..

I have a slice battery for my T420/W520. I don't use it often, but it has come in handy a few times. It really adds to the bulk of the machine; with an X220 the extra bulk would be even more apparent because of the smaller size and lighter weight overall of the machine vs. the larger 14 and 15" T/W...

The entire laptop won't even turn on, or did the SSD just die? The one that came with mine didn't even have anny name or numbers on the casing. The SSD died about 10 minutes after I first turned on the computer. Complete drive failure. I tried to boot from USB, and couldn't do that. That's when I j...

x220t, I have no ultrabay, and since I want to be carrying this a lot, a ultrabay would be way to cumbersome to carry around and I don't have one, I know in the future I could just add a ssd msata and put all my OSes on it and boot from that and use the HDD for storage, but that's past my currently ...

My future budget is pretty restricted, and I know everyone says to upgrade to SSD for the speed and ruggedness, but any future budget I got right now won't allow me to get a drive big enough for things I need stored, I have a massive library of books documents, music and photos and even a samsung 50...

If it's from the same seller that's in that ebay link and the same type of tablet, maybe, check your bios, if you get a big computrace warning before it allows you in and when you go into security settings>anti-theft and computrace is enabled and activated, than yes.
