The Intel SL9HN seems like it might work. This SL9HN http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Xeon/Intel-Low%20voltage%20Xeon%202%20GHz%20-%20LF80539KF0412M%20(BX80539KF20002M).html ? Re: Is the x220 worth getting in 2018?

Depends on what you expect to do. For a secondary/travel machine, they're quite nice. A 2nd-gen Core i5 is no slouch. Need it for serious work? Connect a high-res monitor. Funnily enough I scale my X220's screen to 1536x864 on Linux. As long as the text isn't too small it works well enough--then aga...

Yes it does use the same chip.

It's possible that only the RJ45 port is damaged.

Re: Processor upgrade with T440p

There are some HQ models available that are soldered onto a PGA946 adapter, to enable installation on socketed boards. There's one particular success story, with an i7-4980HQ (the one having Iris Pro Graphics 5200 with 128MB eDRAM) running in a T440p: https://old.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/comments/88dz4...

I don't see a problem with partitioning SSDs. You only need to properly align the partitions --usually at multiples of 1MB (1,048,576 bytes).

Go to Device Manager and take note of the Hardware ID of each of the unknown devices, like this:

You can take screenshots, upload them to an image-sharing site, then link it here. From there we can help in identifying them.

It seems like you bought the bare LCD panel, as used in the regular X220 and X230. The Tablet versions have a digitizer for pen and touch capability.

I don't know if it's possible to transplant the parts from the X220T screen that you already have.

1. The Turbo memory card is a PCIe device that plugs into the T61/R61/X61 WWAN slot. Unfortunately, the R60's WWAN slot is USB-only (no PCIe signals). 2. The Turbo memory card provides little benefit, as tested by various tech websites. Furthermore, some users in this forum reported Windows BSoDs (B...

I don't know what your definition of recent is, so I'm going with "newer than your X201s" 1. X220i with Core i3 would probably run a bit cooler than a regular X220 with Core i5/i7. 2. Re: T420s ~ as in "sleek" ???

The issue with the T4x/T6s Ultrabay is that is's actually an IDE/PATA interface, and the caddy contains an IDE to SATA bridge chip. Such a setup reduces the maximum transfer speed to around 100 megabytes/sec. The T420s Ultrabay has a native SATA interface-- IIRC it's SATA III, with a theoretical max...

Just to get things straight, the WWAN slot on the T440 is M.2. The one on the T430 is mSATA right? They look the same (I have both). They look similar in the sense that they're bare circuit board SSDs, but they do not look the same. Comparison image: http://www.thessdreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2...
