Re: What about the Thinkpad Yoga S3 14?is it worth?

I have a ThinkPad Yoga 260 (12.5" display), which is a bit newer than the ThinkPad Yoga s3 14. If you intend to use the machine as a laptop, I agree with TPFanatic. The real benefits of the ThinkPad Yoga series involve tablet use. With a stylus, you can fold it over into tablet mode and use it to an...

I can confirm that my 365XD booted from a CF card in a PCMCIA adapter with nothing in the hard drive bay.

This model will boot from a CF Card in a PCMCIA adapter too. I couldn't get an IDE to CF adapter to work, so I ran mine for years using this method. I was using Slackware Linux. I can't remember what method I used for setting up the card (See https://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?p=683642#p68364...

Thanks for posting this. I had no idea about Windows 10 LTSC.

I guess the real problem is that, if I understand correctly, you can't obtain it legitimately without purchasing a minimum of 5 licenses.

I agree that CalyxOS is great. I looked at the Fairphone 4, but then came across a pristine used Pixel 5 (also green btw, which I really like!) for a good price, so I bought that instead and loaded CalyxOS on it. Because of the ease of repair, the Fairphone 4 really does look like the closest thing ...

Interesting contraption! System on chip that slides into SO-DIMM socket :) But I wish it had 8Gb RAM not 4, too little RAM is why I ditched T60. Further what size is this screen? This is an old-school design. Thick as a brick with sculpted keys and the option of a trackball. It even appears to have user replaceable 18650 batteries.

I'm seeing a lot of positive reports of Unix based OS on the X230, but much less on the T440p, is there any user here which primarily use the T440p with Unix? The T440p will be great with Linux. Here's an interesting laptop (admittedly from a startup, so who knows how long they'll be around). The concept is a more modular and repairable laptop, while keeping a modern form factor. Debian really is easy to recommend. I run it on my ThinkPads and my servers, with either LXDE or no desktop. It's unbelievably stable and fast. Usually, it just works. If it doesn't, there's an unofficial non-free repository, which includes more drivers: https://cdimage.debian.org/images/unofficial/...
