Yes I have found the same thing. Of course it is targeted toward K-12 education. It is essentially a netbook, howbeit a very nice netbook indeed.

Re: Who here has an x131e Intel Core-i3 model?

I have an x131e with a Celeron, SSD and 4GB and it boots incredibly fast on Windows 8. I've been using it for my basic everyday tasks without problem.

Re: COA and OEM XP Pro disks

Here's my method for installing XP and activating using the key on the COA: 1. Install using XP SP3 retail disc (any XP w/ SP3 disc should do). 2. Skip entering the product code when it asks during setup. (This feature was added with SP3 if I recall correctly) 3. After installation, use the Windows ...

Re: T420 Broken Ultrabay Lock

My T420 was missing it as well and Lenovo actually replaced the lock (under warranty). I don't abuse my ThinkPad and I'm not sure where the thing went! Called up Lenovo an explained the situation and surprisingly they were helpful.

Re: T410 strange USB issue

The two bottom ports on the left side of the machine. The one top port works fine as does the right side "always powered" port.

Re: T410 strange USB issue

Windows 7 64bit or 32 bit. On one port the drive will be recognized but then disconnect then connect again repeatedly. On the other it is not recognized at all. On the other ports it works fine.

T410 strange USB issue

Hi all, I have a brand new T410 (yes, new!) that is doing something perplexing. On one of the USB ports on the left side it refuses to recognize certain USB flash drives. Other flash drives work perfectly and some other USB devices I tried worked as well in that port. The same flash drives that don'...

T61 CPU whine only in Linux

Hi all, On my T61 I installed Xubuntu in a dual boot config alongside Windows 7. Under Windows 7 while using battery there is some CPU whine noise but it is not noticeable unless I'm really looking for it. When using Xubuntu however the noise is audible from a few feet away. The difference is night ...

Re: T60 T61 fan lubrication - illustrated guide by msb0b inside

Thanks for this guide. I bought a T61 off eBay and it had a rattling fan. I lubricated it using some 3 in 1 oil and put some fresh thermal paste on. The rattle is now gone and temps are considerably lower.

Lid not being detected as closed

So I received my T430 back from EasyServe (the base cover was bent causing the machine to wobble when I typed). I was impressed with how quick and easy the process was and they solved that issue completely. Now I have a new issue in where the lid isn't being detected as closed. The backlight stays o...

Re: T430 and palmrest flex

Ended up removing the keyboard bezel and reseating it. Guess I was too forceful as I broke off one of the tiny plastic clips that help secure it to the chassis. That didn't seem to make it flex anymore but the original flex is still there. I guess I'll have to live with it, it's really not a big dea...

Here's a video. Can anybody with a T430/T530 tell me if they experience a similar "give" in the palmrest area?

T430 and 9.5mm drives

Hi all,

Will the T430 (not T430s) accept standard 9.5mm height HDDs? I've read on the Lenovo forums that it will not. If it can, I assume I will need 9.5mm bumpers to put on it? If so, where could I purchase these.

Thanks

T430 and palmrest flex

Hi all, Just got my brand new T430 and am impressed overall. The one issue I am curious about is the amount of flex in the palmrest area. It isn't too bad, still better than the majority of laptops I've used, but when I press down on the palm rest and view the laptop from the side I can see the palm...

Is using hotkey software required?

Hi all, I own a Thinkpad Edge E520 (which I know isn't considered a "real" ThinkPad). As is usually my custom, I did a fresh reinstall of Windows on it. Typically I don't install OEM provided software as it is low quality but Lenovo's seems to be superior. My questions is whether or not using the ho...
