I have the 5100 that came out of my x200 if you're interested, having said that, the shipping to Canada might make it not worth it.

USB 3.0 dock

I've just bought a t440s and am looking for a docking station for it. For previous thinkpads I've always had proper docking stations but as my girlfriend will be sharing my desk at times I thought it would be useful to have a USB 3.0 one where her Dell could also connect. Looking on eBay I can eithe...

T440s adding backlit keyboard

I'm looking to purchase a second hand T440s and would like it know if it is possible to replace the standard keyboard with a backlit one. It seems this is possible for the T430 and T450, but the eBay listings state you need a laptop with an additional backlight connected on the motherboard, is this ...

Never even crossed my mind about whether it was a 65W or 90W adapter! Just swapped to a 90W and it's working fine now!

Thanks!

T420 throttling when dedicated graphics are active

I don't know if this has been covered (I can't seem to find anything in search). I have a T420 with the NVidia GPU but when the GPU is active the CPU throttles itself to 0.80Ghz. the throttling happens immediatly and doesn't revert even when the CPU has cooled down to ~50 degrees. Is this a thermal ...

Dell Chromebook 11 - UK

I started University (college for those over the pond  ) last September and decided I'd need a laptop with an all day battery to take in with me, so I bought this Chromebook. It's battery life is exceptional and really did last me all day when I needed it, but unfortunately I realised that I d...

Intel 7260AC and linux

Hi there, I've recently purchased a X200 and wanted to upgrade the WiFi card to take advantage of the AC router we've got. I'm thinking of getting the 7260AC dual band card, but wondered if anybody had any experience with this card under linux? I've got the Intel 5100 card in at the moment and it do...

Wrong FSB for the T/R61(800Mhz), only T/R400/500 (1066Mhz) will take this I think, maybe the W500 too.

100°C?! Sounds like there's something seriously wrong with your heatsink/fan.

Have you tried downloading TP fan control, linked on the forums here?

My A31p (bought from ajkula66) is very happy running Thunderbird and a few other light applications while sat on my port replicator next to my desktop. Re: T43 keyboard and mouse freezing

It's turned out to be the battery.

With it out there are no problems under windows 7.

Does anyone know if this sounds like the charging circuit or the battery, so I know if I should buy a new battery or not?

T43 keyboard and mouse freezing

I've just replaced my T42's motherboard with one from a T43. I went ahead and installed Windows 7 when I'd got it all back together and all went well, well until the keyboard and mouse stopped responding. A USB mouse works fine and never freezes. I've tried reinstalling windows and it all seems fine...

Re: Are "compatible" 9-cell batteries reliable... and safe?

I agree with ajkula66, it's a huge risk buying 3rd party batteries and I would never do it to a machine I couldn't afford to loose. That being said I have bought them before and haven't had any trouble. Yet...

I definitely wouldn't recommend them though.

Re: What is the "most common" screen res for a 15" R61 please?

I believe you're right on the 8GB RAM limitation and I don't think any 15" 4:3 T/R61 units were ever produced so you're probably looking at 15.4" WXGA (1280x800) which should be upgradable to WUXGA (1920x1200). As for a max CPU, technically you could go for an X9000 but they're pretty hot, a T9500 o...
