Re: FS: T60, 15" 4/3, W7 Pro.

When I put in the T7200 cpu, I also installed the fan from my dead T61 and renewed the thermal paste. Runs cool.

Re: Install camera from one t500 into another

Thanks for the reply.
Before I take apart the t500 without the camera, will it have the same connector and screw mounts in the lid? It never did have a camera.

Install camera from one t500 into another

Hi, I have a t5500 with a dead mobo, but it has a camera in the lid. I also have a good t500 without cam. Can I just swap the cam unit and bezel from the bad one into the good one? It it just a matter of disconnecting the connector, or do I have to take the lcd off the old one and remove the entire ...

What other mobos are a drop in fit? Either the same specs or an upgrade?

Re: T500 doesn't start. Tried the usual power button tricks.

It was dumped because it won't start. Most people don't even try to fix something. I got many laptops from there and got them working fine with a little work. Also av receivers, monitors, soundbars.... This one has no life at all, except for the power and batt light. It's not just the screen not com...

T500 doesn't start. Tried the usual power button tricks.

I just picked up a T500 from the local recycle center for nothing. It's intact, except for the hd. Pressing power does nothing. Connected it to my dock and ps that works with my T60 and used it's power button , nothing. There is a power light and battery light, but no beeps, whirs, flashing, clicks....

Re: T60 recommended SSD

I have Intel 320-series 300gb ssd in my T60 and an old M57 desktop. Both have been working great for years. They're way faster than a spinner and reliable, so far. I have an Intel s3510 800gb as well. I didn't install it into the T60, but did slip it in briefly to see if the T60 recognized it the bi...

I added a 65 watt T60 adapter in the post above. It has the wall cord. It was from my T60, but I rarely used it, like new. $13.00 shipped.

W7 works just fine on the T60/61. With an SSD, it zips along.

Re: T61 cpu in a T60?

Na-ah! Just copy the files from that .rar file onto a USB stick or burn a regular data-CD. Then you need to run phlash16.exe from within Windows (as an Admin if under Vista/W7). Still no go. I get a "failed to open file" message, whether it's run as admin or not. http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j...

Re: T61 cpu in a T60?

Tomorrow, the t7200 should be here. I'm going to install it and the heatsink/fan and Intel n wi-fi card from the t61. I tried the Zender bios in RBS' link, but can't for the life of me figure out how to install it. I unzipped the files with 7-zip, used imgburn to create an img file. Burned it to a c...

Re: T61 cpu in a T60?

I ordered the t7200 from NJ for $15. I'm sure the fan will fit with one bracket or the other.
So the agn wi-fi will still be an improvement even with only 2 antenna leads?
Hopefully it will be done this weekend and I will report back.

Re: T61 cpu in a T60?

This is all good info. If I upgrade the cpu to a t7200, will I be able to use the Middleton bios ( I have an Intel ssd in the t60 now)? Or does that require a whole mobo replacement? What about the fan assemby and wi-fi card? I just removed the t61 fan and cleaned and lubed it. I know it was quieter...
