T-520 Rebuilt, new Bluetooth 4 60y3303, but F5 not working

I'm at the end of a rebuild cycle for two T-520's with Optimus 04W3254 planars. (This follows rebuilding of some T-61's with new stock 44C3933 planars, where I had to solve this Bluetooth problem first which was successful.) The build is with a clean install of Windows 10 x64 ver. 1809, followed by ...

Re: Hardware Maintenance Diskette from T520

That was an almost "perfect" for T-61, even when the USB-HMD is first in the Boot order. Randomly (apparently) I can still get the <Esc> key message, but it seems much less persnickety about the timing of the Escapes. It is still not clear to me when it wants them - during the BIOS screen or when th...

T61 Bluetooth Settings in BIOS - do they exist?

I'm finishing up with several T-61 rebuilds and closing in on the Bluetooth adapters using Windows 10 Pro 1809. It has been difficult to find these in Device Manager, and although physically present none of them show up. They are of the FRU 39T0487 variety (Bluetooth Daughter Card - 2; Broadcom BCM2...

Re: Hardware Maintenance Diskette from T520

Thanks!!!! Something must have significantly changed since v. 1.83. I used an old flash drive (118 MB), did simple quick format over the old v.1.83, ran the usbfmtpw.exe file, and voila! it works perfectly as you described with no pressing of <Esc> as I remember. Interestingly, when the HMD opened, ...

Re: Intel M.2 form factor WiFi cards in T-520 - possible?

I actually switched over to the 7260 for all my T-61 and T-520 gear (except the really old T-42's which will take TP-Link TL-WN961N 300MBPS Mini PCI card with a patched BIOS to prevent the 1802 Error).

The question was whether the 8260 and/or 9260 might at any extra performance,

Intel M.2 form factor WiFi cards in T-520 - possible?

I'm finishing my build of 2 T-520s and the last thing to do is WiFi. I have already flashed the BIOS with a ver 1.49 no white-list version, so my question is whether there are later later Intel Cards (8260, 9260) in the M.2 form factor that will work with an M.2 to Mini PCIe adapter. Given that the ...

Re: W-520 OEM Touch LCD part number for 04W1511

After doing multiple searchings, I think the answer may be that both of the these refer to the AUO B156HW01 v.4 (matte), but what isn't mentioned is anything about the touch mechanism per se. I am wondering since the listing for the 0$W1511 is for an "assembly", that it is for the B156HW01 v.4 *and*...

Hardware Maintenance Diskette from T520

It's been a while since I've needed to use the HMD (mine is 1.83 on USB drive), and this is my first experience with a UEFI BIOS (migrated up from T61's). W-520 OEM Touch LCD part number for 04W1511

I was investigating a replacement Touch LCD FHD panel for FRU 04W1511 and trying to locate the OEM's part number. I'm guessing this is an AU Optronics as the non-touch version (FRU 04W1544) is an AU B-156-HW-01 (V.4).

Any thoughts? And thanks in advance.

T-520 LED sub cards 04W1362 vs 04W1363

I'm look through the part list and find two LED subcards for the T-520.

04W1362 is listed as no Mic
04W1363 is listed as having one

Checking listings, there seems to scads of the 04W1362, but not 04W1363. Did the T-520 have a mic anywhere else (mainboard like the old T-6x) or is this it?

Thanks!

As I've been on rebuilding spree, I've come across some Glossy WXGA+s for the T-61 widescreen 14.1'. They're Samsung, and overall the color isn't bad. If you have an HDD Ultrabay adapter with SATA, the signals are converted to PATA. This explains why my spare SATA HDD drive runs so slowly.
