Re: Coreboot on the X210

Yay!

However, it seems like the updated devicetree.cb didn't make it in (abandoned?) which enables the FPR and SD card. I wonder what happened there..

We need a Baidu account to download this?

Would it be possible to upload somewhere that does not require creating an account?

How did you get the GPU working?

I have a somewhat-working install of Sierra, but I spent a few days playing with different ig-platform-ids to no avail. Intel HD620 should work, according to this document..

Re: Coreboot on the X210

I'm still having trouble with long boot delays. 20 seconds on EVERY boot, it looks like it's redoing the RAM training each time.

SECURITY_CLEAR_DRAM_ON_REGULAR_BOOT is NOT set.

Does anyone have a clue why coreboot would be spending 20 seconds on FsPMemoryInit anyway?

Thanks,

Unaccounted-for battery draw on X210?

Hi, Maybe a silly question but this has me stumped. I'm currently using coreboot with vladisslav's EC. I've got a 9-cell X201 (8.6Ah nominal) battery I'm using. Pretty old, according to Battery Bar it's 17.5% degraded. That should put it around 70Ah, subtract another 10 for fudging and bad specs, wh...

Re: X210 embedded controller fixes (was: X210 EC datasheet/better brightness control)

Hi, I've found a funny issue with vladisslav2011's EC. I built an otherwise working coreboot image against the latest master. On Linux, I get 14 brightness steps and everything works great. On Windows (10) brightness control doesn't work at all. It still registers the key events in that I see the on...

X210 working graphics?

Hey, Has anyone tried turning an X210 into a Hackintosh successfully? I've gotten most things working on Mojave except for graphics. I spent a few days playing with different ig-Platform IDs according to this document . I should be able to get the HD 620 working, but I haven't had any luck. Any clue...

X201 sub-card schematic?

Hey, Does anyone have / know of a source for the schematic of the SUB-CARD in an X201? The motherboard one is a Google search away but I wasn't able to find one for the USB/ sound sub-card. I'm thinking of redesigning it and shrinking it for the X210, but I'd like to start with knowing what exactly ...

Re: X210 - PCI root bridge for M.2 slot?

Quick update: An NVME drive works just fine....so now I'm totally lost. Clearly then the 4x PCIe lanes work, so why won't any other devices show up?

Fingers crossed for any group wisdom...

X210 - PCI root bridge for M.2 slot?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out why none of my PCIe cards (none of which are actually NVME drives) will show up in the M.2 slot. I've enabled all 9 root ports in the BIOS and set them to x1, since the card I'm testing with is an x1 card (Sunix UDP2018). I can get it to show up just fine in the WiFi slo...

Re: Where to get high current 5V and 12V on X210?

I took "12V" straight from the battery, since that sits at 11.1V...which turns out is close enough for the USB-C card, which regulates down to 5V anyway. For 5V, I'm guessing the usual 500mA current limit applies if it's drawn from USB, unless the internal / PCIe ports don't regulate that properly? R

Mmhm sure :)

The working one is this guy.

And I'm thinking of giving up the SATA Bay for this, so I'd carve out a port in the drive cover. I've got at least one extra.

Re: Anyone tried non-storage devices in X210 M.2 slot?

M.2 keys confuse me. The one on the X210 looks to be a M-key, which should be 4x PCIe plus SATA, which checks out with the storage solutions people have talked about. Regarding power, perhaps. It's got an external power plug that I've temporarily connected to a USB port (yes I know the card says it ...

Re: Anyone tried non-storage devices in X210 M.2 slot?

To add USB-C obviously :) And no, it doesn't work on stock either, but then the BIOS has so many options I wouldn't know if it was disabled... They don't really make standalone Thunderbolt controllers yet so this might be the best we can do, unless someone wants to port Coreboot to the new X2100 ;) R

Anyone tried non-storage devices in X210 M.2 slot?

Hi there- I'm trying to get this card working in the X210. However, I can't tell if this just does not work, or if my card is DOA. The symptom is no reaction at all, on either Windows or Ubuntu. No dmesg change, no new hardware installer popups. Last I checked this card uses PCI lanes, which an M.2 ...

I just logged in to Win10 with my fingerprint and downloaded some photos from an SD card, so I'm pretty sure it works :p Note that when I first received the machine the SD card didn't work either. I fixed the SD card and fingerprint reader, if anyone needs that.

Add this to src/mainboard/51nb/x21/devicetree.cb:

register "usb2_ports[3]" = "USB2_PORT_FLEX(OC1)" # FPR?
register "usb2_ports[4]" = "USB2_PORT_FLEX(OC1)" # SD?

Where to get high current 5V and 12V on X210?

Hi all- I just picked up this guy for experimentation, but I still need to power it. It comes with an adapter that looks like it pins out the standard Molex 4-pin, so it appears to consume both 5V and 12V. I'll try to measure the SATA connector one of these days to see if it has 12V, but I doubt it ...

Retrofit USB-C charging into older Thinkpads?

Crazy thought- I want to retrofit one of my "older" Thinkpads (think X61/62, X201/210) with USB-C charging. The USB-C spec allows 20V at 3A or 5A, so if one adds a USB-C Power Sink such as this or this , that should be enough to replace (or add to) the standard barrel connector. Is this a silly idea...

Looks to be incompatible.

It's a lovely (but glossy) display and there's not much bezel left where a webcam might go in mine (a build from Jacky).
