I have this from work around 1999. Worked until they removed the hard drive.
It has a nice "Port" carry bag, floppy, extra battery, manuals, looks very complete
except for the hard drive.
Is this worth anything?
Any known collectors on here that I should contact?
Thanks, Pete B.

Re: Installing OS/2 Warp 4.52 in 2017
I have a brand new in the box OS2 Warp version 3 with an install CD and
the bonus pack CD. Is this of any use to anyone? I suppose not if you can't
apply updates or if you already have a newer ISO.

Re: X60S Fan Error
Is the antenna on the Sierra card good for anything, I only have 2 wires on the wifi card. Also, is there any trick for oiling the fan without opening up the HSF? I have the planar board out but have not opened the HSF. ALSO wanted to note that the right side of the palm rest on this X60s has a copp...

X60S Fan Error
I'm tearing down an X60S with a fan error and found that just after removing the keyboard it runs just fine. It was making a very slight scraping sound and it was probably hitting the keyboard. There is a very small foam ridge that is crumbling so I'm going to remove it all then blow out the fan. It...

It loaded fine as a live CD, then installed fine, booted several times, tried Chrome

I'm going to try MX Linux since there are some excellent reports about it.

Re: Time for a "what distro are you running" thread...
MX-18 Linux (with the XFCE DE) is now final and I highly recommend it (ymmv) : - https://sourceforge.net/projects/mx-linux/files/Final/MX-18/ . I'm running it on everything from a Thinkpad 600x to a 701DS. I'm using for Thinkpads that would run Windows XP or 7. For older Thinkpads running Windows 9...

Re: Upgrade LCD T500
Yes indeed. The model number is mentioned in the first thread that emeraldgirl linked. That panel is just ridiculously good. As you can see in pictures of my review, it can actually keep up in terms of brightness with the 300 nit IPS panel of the T540p. Outdoor usage is no problem whatsoever. In fa...

W530 For Light Gaming and School Work
I've finding W530s fairly cheap on ebay and they more often have core i7 quad cores than the T version. Are they a good choice for light gaming giving that the GPU is better optimized for CAD? Does the GPU directly support Direct-X for gaming? Anything else we should consider looking for something u...

Thanks again to all, very informative.
There was mention that Apple is still doing 16:10, has anyone looked into using an
apple panel in a Thinkpad? I'm sure someone here has thought of it.

Do you suggest specific steppings because they are lower power, or for some other reason.

Re: WUXGA upgrade on a T500?
I'm just looking at options, I do love the IPS UXGA in the Frankenpad.
The 16:9 IPS display that I've been trying is in a T440s and the low heat and long
battery time are VERY nice.

Re: WUXGA upgrade on a T500?
I've been trying to get used to 16:9 and hate it, so I'm looking again at a T500 for the 16:10 display. I'm aware of RBS's suggestion for the Sharp WUXGA panel but wish there was something closer to an IPS display. I have a Dell M4400 with the 1440x900 WXGA LED display and all I can say is that it i...

FS: Not Working X61s, X60s, X6 Ultrabase, One Battery, 65W PS

No luck, there is a black look around a corner of the display connector on the motherboard
and the display is VERY dim. I'm going to sell this as is. I also have an X60s that I'll sell
with it.

Re: X61s Will Not Power Up
I have it torn down now and am reseating the connectors, looking for issues.
Nothing obvious so far.
I've not been able to find the FRU for the motherboard in the HMM or is there a
site to look up the correct one with the L7700?
That's amusing about smoke then working fine!

X61s Will Not Power Up
I bought an X61s in nice condition several years ago, loaded windows 7, Middleton BIOS, more RAM, redid thermal paste, found a good condition battery with low cycles. Ended up putting it in dock in the kitchen where it has been for the last 3 years or so. I let it auto update to Win 10, and booting ...

The other obvious thing is to check task manager for high CPU usage due to updates, scans, or any other tasks needing to complete. Check that all of your apps and browser add ons are up to date with respect to the age of your system/OS. I'd put it in power saver mode to keep the clock rate down and ...

Re: Help! I need *another* new ThinkPad!
I think you'd do fine with a Frankenpad and windows 7 32 bit if you really need the ability to run 16 bit code. Is Intel video good enough or do you need Nvidia? Why don't you tell us your specs? Type of video Amount of RAM Processor Display, do you currently have UXGA IPS display, what do you need?...

I think I could get a picture for you if you want to. ID Tech next to BOE next to Sharp. Sharp is pretty nice, but IMO considering color reproduction its far behind.
